how would you describe the feeling of being on stage and performing music for a crowd?

Re: Crushing it, mk. whatever
Good shit going down itt. Especially excited for Nick. Also, hope you have a good time on the road JJ.
After my terrible alcohol binge the other night I finally decided to get myself back on track. Made some flame ass gnocchi last night. Then I walked around Lincoln Park today looking for a job. I was hoping that Dave's would be looking for some part-time help but it that is doubtful at best (I did snag Untrue and Dragging a Dead Deer Uphill tho!) I did find a pretty flame panini shop that is eager for some part-time help. It's about a one minute walk from my apartment and everyone there seems really nice. Also, their paninis are next level and so it their daily soup selection.
I'm also moving into a new place by June with four other bros on the corner of Sheridan and Broadway. Pretty wicked location and I'll only be paying $500/month. Also, the five tenets above us are five girls who found us the place and are all really awesome. One of them is 'Muslim girl' who actually isn't Muslim and we have become really good friends this year. So basically going to be living with 10 pretty dope individuals with great personalities and taste in music/film/etc. Also, some of these homies can cook like some absolute motherfuckers. I'm really excited about putting on like 15-20 lbs next year.

I just slept for 18 hours. That's a record for me. Now I am going to dipset over to some DePaul Graduate Philosophy conference. Tom Krell (How to Dress Well) is speaking on Richard Rorty (lol).

Made it through three rounds of interviews for a major career-making move to a much bigger deal position and was just informed I am officially a finalist.
On deck: a 2-3 hour interview with the entire office, the City Manager and the Mayor.

Yeah. Congratulations, I think. I actually can't imagine what it must be like to have a 'real' job but it seems like you have devised a pretty sweet set-up for yourself (with the night classes and all).

Re: Crushing it, mk. whatever
Thanks, and I agree with you. Having a real job is mostly ridiculous and I would love to do something else; I constantly think on how I'm going to be spending 23.8% of my week doing something that gives me almost no personal satisfaction and puts money into the pockets of someone I'll likely never meet and hardly needs another dollar.
But I'm treating it as an means to an end where I can return to grad school, start my own business(es) and travel. plus I want to buy some new clothes.

The vast majority of things that make society function are no fun, which is why we are paid to do them. I used to worry about becoming obsolete in my industry, but it sounds like not too many (white) people are gunning for my job.

I know, and I'm fairly resigned to that for at least a few years of getting to "where I want to be". Just figured I'd entertain the youth in WP64's comment.

i have found that working full time gives me a sense of calm because it's a time consuming structure that reminds me of being in school
the hardest thing is being productive with my non-work time, something i assume i can only get better at

Weird, enjoy it if you have it, I've not yet found calm from any of my jobs and each one has made me miss being in school even more.
