You guys digging Icona Pop is almost as funny as when you decided to start repping that Rihanna single from last year. Nothing wrong with it I guess, just kind of a head scratcher.

That isn't a good thing. I can't escape that fucking track and it sucks. It was alright the first time I heard it. And now it has become a jam for every girl on my campus to act like a fucking ditzy bitch too.

I'll be sitting in some apartment or dorm room drinking a beer and listening to some quality tunes. And then some bleached-blonde skank will be like "playaa dat one sawng!"

3 minutes later I am sitting in the corner watching 15+ girls act like they own the fucking world. Which is funny because most of them already act like they own the world to begin with. It's bad dudes, really really bad.

That doesn't take away from the merits of the song. It does bump pretty well. But I just can't get the ugly connotation of the above scenery out of my mind whenever I hear it. Forever tarnished.

Dunno how it's "funny" or "a head scratcher" when people like massive, catchy pop songs. But I've long since given up divining wp64's thoughts.

You're going to have to be more specific re: "that Rihanna single from last year". There were a lot of 'em.

its popularity has been rising slowly over the past ~6 months. served as the theme song to a jersey shore spinoff and soundtracked this classic scene from zeitgeisty white gurl show Girls

Don't remember specifically... I think it was on the dead version of SOMB. Tried for five minutes to search vacantLopp, but that search engine sucks.

I don't normally care for relentlessly repetitive dance music without a pop vocal, but that was pretty good.

Disagree with him remixing the Daft Punk album, and the entire idea that it needs remixing. One of my friends who thinks he's into music but is actually just a "cool sounds" / thumping bass / fidelity snob said he can't wait to hear the Human After All remixes. I was like, dude just whip out Tron Legacy Reconfigured again. The whole point of RAM is that they aren't doing that.

I mean, I'm sure remixes are forthcoming, but he might as well foam at the mouth for a Lumineers remix LP, realize that his favorite songs are ones missing the song-y bits, and skip records centered on a rock opera by the "Rainbow Connnection" guy.

It's certainly something to see. And those Beats pill speakers continue to crush it in the marketing department. Mostly I'm just amazed at how many notes she manages to sing without any of them ever congealing into a melody.

I never posted in this thread before because I don't have any associations w/ yancy's taste in music other than perhaps he likes gay synth jams and energetic power pop. Definitely gonna pay more attention from now on.

I've seen the video four times and have no recollection of what it sounds like. Terrible music, not up to usual standards of YSJ
