Makes me wish I'd gone to the office this week, because I can walk to tweed's cube in five minutes. Carry my laptop over to a prime voyeur perch and wait for fist pumpage.

Re: JDFF
Reuben, we're never going to finish that song without devolving even further into agrimorfee territory, I sorta just wish somebody would kick Bloody Cunt out, lock it and archive it forever.

Re: JDFF
I mean...
...what?
it's easier to find consistently great albums that contain only a handful of tracks, obviously. like 'astral weeks' or 'station to station.' the former has 'slim slow slider', though, which i think qualifies it as a dud in the context of this discussion.
i happen to think that there are a few tracks on pet sounds that, when removed from the context of the album, aren't all that special
...what?

Second quote doesn't strike me as a particularly ridiculous way to state an opinion

Binko's contention that 'Sloop John B' is the worst song on Pet Sounds is a far more annoying.

Believe it or not, that's the consensus opinion on the song/album. I think it's insane, too. Wonderful song, wonderful arrangement. So baller.

Seriously? I was under the impression it was regarded as one of their classic singles.

Re: JDFF
Maybe opinion has shifted, but it at least was for decades thought to be a good single which is totally out of place on a(n otherwise) classic album. Also often got singled out because it's not an original Wilson composition, and was therefore "beneath" the rest of the record. I've read many reviews which referred to it as "inconsequential," over the years. Definitely one of my favorite Beach Boys A-sides, though. Perfect song. People are stupid and don't know anything, basically.

Yeah, I actually have no idea what that thread is trying to get at.
Wasn't dice the one that made the thread about musicians dying of "natural causes"?

Re: JDFF
"Good Vibrations" is more out of place on Smiley Smile than "Sloop John B" is on Pet Sounds.

Re: JDFF
Beach Boys truth bombs all over this thread. "Sloop John B" is one of the singles that's so great it made me want to investigate them beyond the hits, in the pre-web era when I had no music geek motive to check out a square oldies band, since I didn't realize Pet Sounds was a big deal, and knew literally nothing about the whole (Smiley) Smile thing. That was long-ass sentence.

I don't know how to react to Bloody Cunt anymore. Maybe I'm just over getting in full on JDFF posting battles. Maybe he just has me at a total loss for words. Don't know!

I started writing a rebuttal to his post about '80s music. Halfway through the second sentence, I realized it wasn't worth it and felt good about my life!

I know he's always kinda done it but GGWC&NIABD's "Now look here, son" tone in those timberlake thread posts is made of the most unbearable kind of awkward
