I wasn't planning on teaching my kids anything about religion but I'm having second thoughts...

I don't know what's in that video but I wondered if inflicting Catholicism on any potential Duff...? children might be a good character-building experience. I mean look how I turned out.

We had Miniboss baptized for the exorcism but I doubt there will be serious religious instruction unless we find religion as we age.

    J-JENZ turns 4 this weekend.

No baptism, no religion, no God(s), no looking back.

If you are religious and that helps you, more power to you.

I did not know people under 40 were still into religion. Other than the Muslims, obviously.

I think that by the time I leave this mortal coil virtually no one will believe in God. Apart from the Muslims, obviously.

Nah, death is always gonna be scary.

So Reuben, you casually mentioned an exorcism.

I've just been meaning to respond to this Phixed thread but didn't have anything to say until I remembered there's a part in the Christening ceremony that involves an exorcism. Referring to Miniboss my kid and not the members-only Ninja Turtles Fan Forum poster formerly known as Pong.

Yeah Waylon, what are you talking about here?

Why would you want your child to be exorcised?

just so people remember, my point about Montessori vs. public schooling was that public schooling does a good job socializing children into the our society, which i value a lot. i think that has to do with my middle-class, public school upbringing but hey, whatever.

Demonic Possession is absolutely fine with me because it is imaginary.

I am just curious why you had your child Baptised "for the exorcism". Were you simply interested in seeing the ritual performed?

Sounds like a centuries-old majority view for otherwise intelligent individuals who are way too optimistic about your average oaf.

I'm not saying I believe in demonic possession, but a little insurance can't hurt!

Afterlife proponents aren't logical enough to consider the agonizing boredom of their billionth year of spiritual existence. Death happens way sooner and is way scarier. I dunno which is more daunting to me personally, but as someone facing death in ~60 years (if I'm lucky), I'd happily take my chances with eternity.
