    translation

"Already long ago, from when we sold our vote to no man, the People have abdicated our duties; for the People who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions — everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: cheeseburgers and baseball"

I know I should probably take offense to this, but I personally don't envy the majority of people who dedicate themselves seriously to matters that are more important than bread and circuses. I was watching a session of parliament on tv today and it occurred to me that most of these soap box shouting geezers are miserable bastards who are draining their last ounces of life energy stressing about preordained bullshit they'll never be able to change anyway. I'd rather spend my time embarked on my own little personal journey detached from the "important events" of my generation.

    lol waveswithin post.

lay off me I'm in a bad mood.

Like, who would you rather be? John Quincy Adams or my ex-neighbor George who looked like the guy from Weekend at Bernie's and listened to the song "el paso" on repeat while drinking on his boat?  Both of these men are AMERICA as far as I'm concerned.

I always think of Ned as being irrepressibly upbeat. Kind of bringing me down to think of him being in a bad mood. :/

I'm just sort of in "fuck the government and all the assholes" mode right now, since I'm writing another term paper for my Politics in Europe class. All work and no play makes ned braden something something.

Have you guys ever read a John Quincy Adams bio? The dude's wife was a FUCKING NAG of epic proportions. The fact that he was unrelenting in his belief of America and having to put up with that cunt means he is an American Hero.
