a surprise layoff today of the closest thing to what i'd call a work mentor leaves me a bit swimming in the ocean on my own. so i'll probably not get a good night's sleep for the next couple of weeks. bollocks. Evil or Very Mad

Just started my new job and it was way oversold to me by the company. Took the job thinking I'd gain a shit ton of experience, but really it's just ultra repetitive memorization work. I can't really complain cause I'm making $20k more than my last job though.

nothing it's all written down in the sharepoint site. None of these people understand anything about software or hardware, just memorization of where to find the information they need to fix shit. I just took an interview for a tier 2 help desk manager that pays more than this job.

I'm pretty sure the IT guy at my job is an idiot. The next time he asks me if he can use the ladder, I'm going to ask him why can't he just stand on a chair.

This needs to be something here at Yancy's Secret Garden. I don't know what, but something. This was posted because somebody was clogging all of the toilets with toilet paper, rendering the office smelly and its workers both ill-tempered and unable to relieve themselves.

Obnoxious co-worker has been yelling "Mikemikemikemike!  What day is it?" at me five times a day for the past 2 weeks.  I'd always answer "Uh, Thursday" or whatever day it was.  Finally yesterday he said "Come on, just play along!"  I told him I didn't know what he was talking about.  He told me about this Geico commercial with the camel, and played me the youtube.

Today I told him "Stop doing that.  It's not funny.  I'm not offended or anything, it's just not actually funny".

He's not going to stop though.  Maybe I'll report him to HR.

The commercials are fine. Funny, even.

This guy loudly imitating it several times a day isn't.

Dude who tops my list of "Co-worker Most Likely To Kill Us All In A Hail Of Gunfire" asked me to train with him for a triathlon. I told him a don't like swimming.

He waited about 5 minutes and them sent me an IM saying "how about a marathon instead?" I told him I really am not in the mindset to do this and he responds "..."

If he ever asks again you should tell him that you only compete in IRONMAN events and do all your training alone, preferably in extreme climates.

Got dressed down at work today for being vocal about my disdain for marketers - many companies we work with - running Martin Luther King Jr Day sales.

Apparently saying I have nothing but contempt for these people is frowned upon.
