As I see it, this is Tatsuro Yamashita for the Garret Kriston demographic, and I highly recommend that everybody listen to it:

I'm so imlikewhoa  over this sound right now. I just downloaded this on a whim and talked about it with Zappo on the facebook:    http://jpddl.com/music/174590--album-tatsuro-yamashita-opus-all-time-best-1975-2012-mp3320cdlimited-edition-2012-and-20120926-.html   (again, rapid gator link with antijpddl password works)

    It's very HOLY SHIT!  imo.

man!  I mean...   man oh man!!!!

Sun Bathing and Sunset Afternoon, tracks 3 and 4 on that album, are like the best soundtrack imaginable for some 16 bit videogame that unfortunately never existed.

Indonesian, but I feel it fits the vibe of this thread pretty well. Badass synth solo.

i found this an amazing listen just now so i tracked down the full release which somehow still exists as a rapidlink from a 2009 thread on a Georgian forum (the country) called "JAZZ DOWNLOAD" http://forum.ge/?f=21&showtopic=33924315&st=195

yeah i adore that album. such perfectly pitched pop exotica and then it turns so shimmeringly beautiful it hurts

paraiso is similar although a little more ymo-ish in the back half

cochin moon is much more elite but still worth a listen
