Not sure if this constitutes heroism on the Reuben level, but wasn't sure where else to post this. Air Force General basically a real life version of the Onion's Biden caricature:

If he actually did sing with that Beatle band he'd definitely make this list.

Not exactly a hero but I can't help but be awed by this man's accomplishments:

I had some sushi for dinner at the grocer after work on Friday.  At the table across from me was another guy in a suit.  He had his tie off and was watching something on his phone with headphones in.  He had a box of about 1/2 pound of assorted Italian cookies in front of him, and every time I looked up at him he was just working on a different cookie.  Washing it down with a mineral water.  I wanted to shake his hand but I could just tell he already knew exactly how baller he was.

    Ned's Heroes edition.....

Captain Eric 'Winkle' Melrose Brown CBE, DSC, AFC, KCVSA, PhD Hon FRAeS, RN

Captain Eric Melrose "Winkle" Brown is a British former Royal Navy officer and test pilot who, in testing 487 different types of aircraft, has flown more types of aircraft than anyone else in history. He also holds the world record for most aircraft carrier landings performed (2,407) and is the Fleet Air Arm's most decorated living pilot.

The US Navy were said to have given one man the specific job of breaking Brown's record. "To his everlasting credit he got up to 1,600 and then had a nervous breakdown," says Brown.

Alex Van Bibber, an incredible Yukon trapper, just may have been the toughest man in Canada

One time, already well into old age, the veteran trapper was demonstrating a powerful new steel trap to a classroom of his peers when it suddenly slammed shut on his wrist, shattering his watch and sending pain shooting up his arm.

Without blinking or missing a beat, the trapper turned back to the stunned class and said “Now what are you going to do? You’re caught in your own trap. You have to get out because you can’t go home because your wife will laugh at you.”
