    The Internet Empty The Internet

Remember when this became so pervasive that it created an entire American generation of lazy, self-important schmucks that I am going to shamefully enslaved to until the day that I die.

I'm kidding. I guess. Maybe. But probably not.

Sometimes I think I could seriously just cut ties to most forms of technology and I would be a smarter, more engaged, and ultimately much happier person. I'd be more imaginative (creating mental scenarios to jerk off to instead of typing 'big tits' into a porn search bar). I'd be way more active (imagine having to go to an library and finding well-researched, thoughtful, and cogent arguments). Shit would be crazy.

I don't think that I am as technologically dependent as most people my age. I went to San Fran for a month without ever using a cell phone or the Internet and it worked out just fine. I haven't been able to charge my phone all week and it doesn't bother me. I just tell people to call me on my home phone and if I am around then maybe they will hear from me.

The only thing I would miss out on is tunes and movies. I steal a lot of tunes and read about a lot of tunes on this machine. It is pretty hard to find that information in print publications and word of mouth doesn't really exist. And I am way too fucking poor to actually afford all the tunes and films that I want to dig. So it does sort of fill that void for me.

But mostly I just use it to beat off and then tell you guys about it. It's pretty stupid and probably kills all of my brain cells. My cell phone plan finally ends in March and that will be it for me. The next step will be lessening my dependency on my laptop. I am going to stop looking at porn and stop using this shit for everything but talking to y'all bros and torrenting shit. It shouldn't be that hard really because I've already been cut from all forms of social media for about two years now.

Also, anyone who walks around with those silly ass Google glasses is the motherfucking enemy.

My coworkers mock me because I have a dumbphone and I don't use Skype. My lab partners laugh at me because I have a netbook (which I do all our our group work on by myself) and not a brand new iPad. I didn't realize until recently that this stuff was going to reflect so poorly on me.

My regular-ass cellphone is six years old and cost $10. Still works as well as the day I got it. No complaints. But while access to the internet has not made me a smarter person, it has certainly made me a more learned one.

My coworkers are cool, they just think I'm ten years younger than I am.

My lab partners are fucking idiots, the girl is okay but she does just shit in class and the dude, who I used to get along with, is getting on my nerves these days like almost no one there has so far. If we weren't working in a basement, I'd probably have thrown him out a window by now.

I'm a very nonviolent person by nature and a total pussy so I think that's really saying something.

This guy at work who thinks he lives "downtown", but actually lives in Lakeview casually mentioned that he "just got an Uber" to get to work on one of those really cold days.

I hate technology and just happen to be really good at selling it. So, I'm selling as much as I can and hoarding that money so I can retire to a farm in Wisconsin and never access the internet again.

Just read books, walk my property each day and write.

As I've been working 12 hours six days a week lately my ipod comes in handy.  Been getting into audiobooks. The internet helps to find and download them, so I guess I shouldn't complain about it
