I never had this experience but I imagine this must be how college freshmen feel when they start threads about how amazing Tom Waits is or something

Be sure to check out the excellent compilation of his singles and B-Sides from the 80's, Nothing Can Stop Us, including his take on Elvis Costello's "Shipbuilding."

love the versions of Caimanera and Stalin Wasn't Stallin' on that.

Old Rottenhat and Comicopera are my two favourite Wyatt albums.

Saw him being wheeled out of a pub in Bethnal Green a few years back.

I've also seen him in person, being wheeled around Bristol. I think it's his hometown (Wikipedia confirms).

    Rock Bottom is incredible, obvs.

Does his solo stuff sound like the soft machine? I've always assumed his solo shit was lyrical and introspective so I've stayed away.

I haven't listened to The Soft Machine so I don't know.

Obviously, that's something I'll need to do something about.

was listening to the first Soft Machine album at work the other night. fucking love his drumming on that.

the accident probably played a big part in the creation of all this great music but I'd love to have heard more of his rock drumming.
