I can't even pretend to care about what is happening with this sport or that team right now.

Xmas is usually the time I really check in with the NBA. I’ve been following the Bucks & watching when I can. I love the later games during week on the NBA Network or ESPN. There are so many exciting players in the league.

Part of my disinterest might be because I am anticipating not really being able to watch any of the playoffs this season. I also just have a hard time following a league without feeling like I have a rooting interest in any single team. That's the only way that I know how to anchor myself and sustain an interest really. It's cool to watch a bunch of super talented players ball out, but that's a very different and much more passive thing.

I've tried to manufacture a fandom of the Bulls, but I can't. It feels very inorganic. I just don't care and it is impossible identify with the organization (which is a fucking shambolic joke) or the fans (who seem like total idiots who are willing to entertain the idea of Wade and Parker because they are 'hometown boys'). I know that the United Center just has the largest capacity of any NBA arena, which is why the Bulls almost always lead the league in attendance. But even still, to put out that "product" and lead the league in attendance is ridiculous. And that doesn't mean that they are dedicated, die-hard fans either. If you go to games the arena is usually quiet as hell. It's just full of corporate people who use ticket packages as client perks. Bleh.

This lasted a month or less for Wade.

Rose is getting significantly more hometown-love than Parker atm.

Going to see them play the Magic in January, which will probably be the lowest-stakes game I've ever gone to in any sport.

Hey, we might be going to that one too. It’s one of the games that my girlfriends company offers at a discounted rate! Lol.

You have some fair points WP. I honestly think these guys are soft compared to other teams. They should be decent on paper and are certainly not playing well together considering some of the contracts. I’ve come to the conclusion that this will be another bad season but I enjoy basketball and I don’t have the full sports package so it’s the bulls, espn, or tnt.

I met this chick who is an insane-level NBA fan, so we get to text about insane storylines and watch games together before we fuck. It's great! I've infected her with my passion for JJ Barrea.

Of course their very next game against a far superior team would turn out to be exponentially more competitive and fun

I watched the last 5 minutes of the Mavs vs. Celtics game last night. It was sad watching Dirk. The crowd wanted him to get those 2 points so bad but the dude can barely move at this point.

No, it was Thibs.  Just like when WP hurt his knee, I got diabetes, and Trump was elected.  If Chicago has taught me anything, it's that everything is Tom Thibodeau's fault.

    Hot midseason Bulls thoughts

I want to keep Jabari and I want him to play as much as possible.

New coach announced as soon as this season is over, get everyone on the same page right away.

No idea who they should draft or who they should pick up in the future.

    Thank you very much

Jabari is gone. He’s like Mirotic last year, showing off to get that good payday. Plus, the organization wants him as a three and he’s always been a four. If a guy doesn’t want to fit into the system you setup then it’s best to part ways. It’s a two way street and Jabari isn’t talented enough to build the team around him. I’ll take Lauri all day over Jabari, he offers more.

With all that being said it’s been really fun watching him. That game against Brooklyn was awesome even though it was a tough loss.

I haven't watched a Bulls game since November. Is Jabari actually playing well or just putting up big counting stats? I hate this team so much.

I don't know but he's hustling on defense, certainly much more than people gave him credit for early in the year. Depending on the game, this sometimes actually results in blocks and meaningful challenges. Sometimes he even looks like the hardest working dude on the floor.

He has this reputation of being a selfish player but I think his aggressive streaks are more productive than other Bulls players who do/did this, and just as often he's making smart and effective passes that result in assists or at least get the ball moving more than they ever try to on an average possession.  I'm curious to see where this goes.

Then again, at the start of the season I thought this would be a breakout year for BP so who knows. I'm really just grasping at the dark here. What I observe in watching YouTube condensed games is probably leaving out tons of disastrous plays that would be just as illuminating to see as the actual highlights are.

Crazy Bucks performance tonight. Ultimately won comfortably but man they looked awful for a long stretch in the 2nd half after being unstoppable in the 1st.
