Jasper Makes Monthly Playlists Empty Jasper Makes Monthly Playlists

Post by chrondog Sat Apr 06, 2019 10:01 pm

Last year, my Portland friend shared playlists she curated each month. I stole the idea from her and have been constructing my own lists since August 2018. Some months I've felt like curating a specific sound, but mostly it becomes a dumping ground for any song that I "enjoy" on shuffle or radio.

Thread is for dumping my playlists and also *any discussion*.

Here is the first one I made:

In September I kept listening to the August playlist, because this month didn't get no love:

November is more sparse, but there's gems in there:

I'm here for the Sade and Noname you're bumping this month. The burnt coffee magnate who keeps threatening to run for President to undercut the interests of America's working classes was coming out to Sade during his stupid fucking book tour. Should be made illegal because there is nothing less soulful than his goofy bullshit.

Sade is an anytime classic. I enjoy slowly getting more familiar with her catalog. Do you know Goapele? She's from the Bay and is like our Sade:

Noname has always been great. "Diddy Bop" was one of my favs several years ago. Her last album was solid. She keeps putting out singles and "Song 32" from a few days ago is very good. I've always had a soft spot for spoken word over beats. There's a chick named Keisha Plum who is part of the Buffalo crew of rappers I like who does a hip hop spoken word flow. She's also cool.
