This isn't a countdown to the EoY list or anything like that. I just realised that I've barely listened to any albums from 2014, just Black Metal and Our Love and a bunch of other stuff I can hardly remember. I'm just scouring Members-Only Ninja Turtles Fan Forum for recommendations with dignity

Love love love these:
DJ Quik
Harshest Realm
Marshall Staxx
Black Bananas
Reigning Sound
Ariel Pink
An album my little bro made under his Bdphones monicker
Leonard Cohen
Run the Jewels
Flying Lotus album is also insanely awesome, but I'm not smart enough to have listened to it a lot and come to love it as much as I probably should've by now.
Sorta jazzed to hear the new Charli XCX when it comes out too.

Would listen again:
Reigning Sound
Harshest Realm
King Buzzo
MOTO
Scott Walker and Sunn
Melvins
The Growlers
Will check out Ace Frehley, Nazareth and AC/DC if I remember to go to Walmart / spotify / slsk.
Shellack and Steven Malkmus ones were not ones I would vote for.

Ned Braden in particular but anybody, really...this album is sick:
I believe there are multiple versions and that the full one has 27 tracks, fyi.
Apologies in advance if the music doesn't live up to the cover art.

Jesus how could anything live up to that cover art?
I eagerly await listening to that in the near future.

I'm not buying something twice. Paves or Bruegel - can one of you guys upload this and give me an excuse to spring some cash for the vinyl?
I've never heard this, but your words and that artwork are more than enough to make me confident about rolling the dice.

you might need to adjust the track order. version I downloaded did not match the LP sequence.
Good luck getting the vinyl for <$100. I very luckily got a copy from Kristina a couple of months after it came out but I've only seen it for exorbitant resale since.

Heard 1989 3-4 times in a row the other night while playing Settlers of Catan w/ another soon-to-be-not-childless married couple and drinking wine. Don't remember anything about the album except "did she say 'starbucks lovers'?," "Shake It Off," and it being generally not bad at all.

It's called Love, Marriage & Divorce and it's one of the best R&B things I've heard this year.
