Within an hour today I saw a Tweet that a majority of Republicans believe President Obama is a Muslim and another that Trump would currently beat any Democrat challenger in an election.

And while I see shit like this almost everyday for some reason I was so paralyzed with fear and confusion I literally felt numb for about 10 minutes.

If anyone would step up and straight up ask them what it is that they're actually celebrating here -- which won't happen because we have to write a new round of culture war thinkpieces instead -- I wonder what they'd even say.

Just figured out what this shit is. Seems like a pretty solid life decision. She'll get to quit her demanding government job and make millions for a minimal effort spouting hate filled bullshit and doing endorsements for chick fil a or whatever. Maybe she'll even get a books on tape deal that'll play on those radio stations for assholes.

Republicans don't actually care about this Jesus shit.

I wonder if Trump might be rendering these pretenders like Kim Davis obsolete. If she's so great, why isn't she rich? All Trump does is insult people and he's destroying the competition. I heard some Republican consultant on TV tonight saying that "women" aren't going to put up with this latest insult to Carly Fiorina's looks, and Chris Matthews told her that Trump's surged with GOP women by like 15%. She said "Oh, what's he at 17% now? HAR HAR."
"No, actually like 38% - he's more popular with women now than men*" and then she just about how Jeb Bush, or maybe Walker, or Rubio, is going to undo the damage that Barack Hussein Obama has done to this country with his politics of division.

*I don't know how legit that stat is, but still, it's hilarious.

Stuff like that is 14-month-out silliness. Hillary would crush Trump in a general election. In fact the Trump candidacy is helping her in so many ways I'm starting to buy into the conspiracy theory that he is running a false flag operation to support her.

Carson's always been a nutbag, not sure why people are only noticing now. Expecting he'll rise in the polls.

Beginning to think Fiorina's gonna be the nominee and was always meant to be.

Hilary will have close to the same primary experience. Bound to be one upstart that wins a debate and gains a groundswell of support. This will probably be someone that the left should genuinely be excited about because, you know, they are actually a progressive Liberal as opposed to whatever the fuck Hilary is.

But they'll have one bad sound bite that the press will jump on and make an issue of which will sway those undecided cunts back towards Hilary.

True Democrats will be depressed about having to support Hilary but 3 months into the Bush vs. Clinton campaign will actually have to defend her because Jesus fuck can you fathom what another 8 years of a Bush will mean?

Fuck off America you disgust me.
I'm just gonna go ahead and call this super prophetic right now in hopes that I jinx the prophecy and Bernie continues to crush it without fucking up.

    Did you guys see this?

    http://mic.com/articles/129126/why-donald-trump-s-retweet-of-a-neo-nazi-meme-is-even-more-dangerous-than-you-might-think#.8PH9CN41U

Like…   I know the dude is just a savage looking to appeal to the lowest common denominator, but honestly blows my mind that he could see stats like that and not immediately identify them as garbage. But Trump, not only does he fail to do this, but he goes one better and tweets it out to millions. Come the fuck on

     disgustedatrightwing  wank

Sums it up: "Checking every statistic, and admitting when you're wrong, isn't a courtesy, it's a job requirement — especially when amplifying the message of neo-Nazis could lead to more homegrown terrorism."

Yea I saw it retweeted that day. The scary part is that his fanboys latched onto it like it was straight truth and even when it was debunked stuck by their man.

He's stirred up such a shitstorm in this election cycle that you've got non-Neo Nazis Trump supporters defending neo-Nazi propaganda because they buy into everything he says. You watch these Republican gatherings and it's like the 1950s or some shit.

I thought this was interesting - argument as to why Trump's lies are different than traditional political lies: http://www.vox.com/2015/12/1/9828086/donald-trump-media

Also seen some interesting arguments that Cruz is strongly positioning himself to pick up Trump's supporters when (if?...!?) Trump finally fades. Apparently many of the Carson deserters are already with Cruz.

Heard that about Cruz. Nasty demagogue and a fraction of a man but shrewd. Initially pegged Bush or Rubio as the beneficiary of so many shrill far right voices.

I think Cruz has the strongest evangelical credentials so he's getting the really outspoken base voters who aren't sticking to the outsider candidates. He's supposedly running one of the best campaigns too.

I'm way less comfortable with him getting the nomination than Trump or Carson, I think the GOP establishment's dislike of him will still keep him out, but I'm nervous.

Start to type Marco Rubio into google, and the suggestions are interesting.  wife at #2 and water at #4.  Potentially non-trivial stuff is so close to the bottom, it could be bumped off the list entirely if he does a funny bit on Colbert.

Also, Carson's not in the running anymore, but this is still fire:
