Do your globes and world maps show the 50 states or is the US just one big, undivided country?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but I wanted to ask anyway.

That giant mass of CANADA I grew up with still renders me confused whenever I'm thinking about which time zone the hockey game is going to be in.

most political projections beyond the smallest and most basic feature US states

at my high school we had a 25" extreme raised relief globe which had states, prefectures, counties, landers, okrugs etc. - it was a thing of beauty

it was like a sickness for me - luckily I hit puberty just as I was getting balls deep in the raion subdivisions of Russian oblasts.

Really specific question here: Do you know the song that gets played in the grounds before a Norwich City match at Carrow Road? I hear it whenever MOTD is showing the lineups. I'm not talking about the goal music - that's Samba de Janeiro - but the music from the pre-game warmups.

What kind of tune is it? I know they come out to On the Ball, City but I doubt you mean that.

yeah, it's not one of the traditional songs they sing in the ground. it's something that gets played over the PA. i think it has some bells ringing in it? it sounds very 90s, just some soaring chords and bells.

Does it bother anyone else when cities like Rockford,Illinois or Billings,GGWC&NIABD are shown on world maps while so many cities in China (and elsewhere) with much greater populations are not?

Not really a question exclusively posed for Brits but this thread seemed like the best place to pose it.

What kind of maps are we talking about? I think a schoolroom map in the US could be forgiven for this kind of thing, Chinese city populations are changing so rapidly and the principal metro area of a US state is arguably more important for a kid to know about.

But today doesn't everyone just use online maps anyway? Which obviously show all the important cities, although they raise their own mapmaking questions (e.g. Arunachal Pradesh).

I sort of like the way our maps, intentionally or otherwise, foster the notion of China as one big, confusing mass of red, presumably because not even geography experts can fully grasp the (evil) terrain.

i have a giant, old Randy McNally topographic map on the wall of my room and i like the way it makes Earth look like it only has like five mountain ranges from far away. Alaska to Tierra del Fuego looks like one continuous ridge.
