Re: fashion thread
Yeah, Ami has been garbage for the past few collections after being kinda strong some time back, but on the plus his clothes fit me pretty well because he pretty much just jacked the Dolce Gabanna fit on shirts and added just a tiny bit more room to the arms. Haven't really seen the new collection yet but based on these pictures I'm not sure I'm super hyped on it. Tim Coppens on the other hand has been consistently good, but none of his pieces fit me that well. Had a nice neoprene cotton short-sleve sweater I tried on that I liked but anytime I raised my arms the whole shirt came up.
I've been feeling what Lanvin has been doing, partly because I like it and partly because Elbaz strikes me as such a good dude I kind of got drawn into his character. Haven't really caught up on NYFWSEPT2014 shit but plan to soon.
Don't know a thing about Anderson, really.
On other news, got a cardigan at Phillip Lim 3.1 sample sale.

How much did you pay for that cardigan.
The most affordable cardigan on his website is $550

Re: fashion thread
Cardigan was a little more than $100.
I've been taking all of my style cues from women's fashion these days. I'm pretty bored with a lot of the mens shit out there - I'm not wearing skirts or anything at this point but the silhouettes on women's current fashion can easily be stretched to men. Glad the dapper gentleman look is finally dying/dead.
Big on the super big top/small bottom look right now too, to cartoonish levels. I don't have any designers who are really doing shit I love right now all around but I don't stay current enough anymore. Going shopping tomorrow to get some YSL waxed black denims perhaps. Some big sweaters too.

Re: fashion thread
I gave in and started wearing skinny jeans again because I finally accepted that I look like a Limp Bizkit fan in any other fit.
I've been draping loose fitting jumpers over them too.

Re: fashion thread
Tall skinny guys should wear tall skinny pants, its just a fact of life Soma.
Also, I find its really hard to find interestingly cut clothing in black at a reasonable price. I recently bought a pair of blue jeans and a green sweater and I'm sick of both - I'm going back to all black/white/grey.
Madrox post something interesting in here, I'm finally making more $ and I want to refresh my wardrobe.

Re: fashion thread
Is the white Stan Smith/Common Project Achilles as popular outside of NYC? Its like all anyone wears around here. CPs in my size sell out in less than a week everywhere they sell them -- this is a $400+ shoe.

Expensive shoe / boots are worth the investment. I don't mind dropping $500 on a pair of Oliver Sweeney boots knowing I'll wear them for the next 7 years.

Re: fashion thread
Yeah, I agree I will spend lots of money on shoes if well made, and I'm not judging those who bought these sneakers either because I've been trying to on Tres-Bien for like, 3 seasons. Just was curious if this trend was going on outside nyc. $400 for plain white tennis shoes wouldn't strike me as a big sellout item.
The Fendi shoes I got were originally $800 but they seem the sort of shoe to last a really long time, and I didn't pay that anyway.

Re: fashion thread
Reading the Kanye West interview with Style.com I am reminded how much I love this guy and want to support him. He says/does plenty of things that people deem obnoxious but his passion is undeniable and like he says in the interview his intentions are always pure.
I could spend hours reading thought piece hot take bullshit just on his Grammy's stunt alone but he has been the best hip hop artist alive since his debut and his attempts to make fashion that is now more reasonably affordable is terrific.

Why anyone at this point would either expect him or want him to not storm the stage at the Grammys is beyond me. And then a week later to perform Jesus Walks lying flat on the ground wearing blue contacts and Mad Max clothing under a four foot tall light canopy... I mean this guy just does not give a fuck.
