As a rule of thumb I'd make the Irish guys hobbits, which might not be fair but is fitting of the typical racist attitudes of English guys like Tolkien.

Chicago blogger at thecommittedindian.com Sam Fels likened Vancouver's Jason Garrison to an Ent last night and it blew my mind.

I got to level 3 of the google zamboni game before I realized I'd be wasting the entire morning if I didn't close the tab right away.

I am going to Clarke's, a shitty underage friendly bar in Lincoln Park, on Saturday at 2pm cst to watch the Hawks @ Kings.

I'll be pounding $1 Rolling Rocks out of a can while watching the game. I am pretty excited about it.

I thought Clarke's was like an all night diner or something. My poker professional friend used to wait tables at the one on Belmont.

clarke's bought out the place next door to the north a few years ago and expanded into a horrible bar. like, literally one of the most horrible bar experiences i have ever had when i visited. just tons of sloppy drunk underage kids yelling at each other and falling over tables. drink like civilized people, kids. /old

I'm surprised they can get away with such an obvious den of underage consumption under the watchful eye of Chicago's liquor control commission.

Yeah, pretty much the most intolerable shit ever. My parents have allowed me to drink in their house since I was 15 and so I never got the appeal of getting trashed really. I know my limits, I know how alcohol effects me, and I enjoy the pleasurable bodily effect of 3+ beers and just watching a game, talking to a friend, or going for an evening stroll and smoking some cigarettes.

My roommate always pokes fun at me because I drink much more frequently than he does but never get drunk. He usually drinks anything in sight on the weekends and comes back to the room blasted as fuck. It's pretty stupid. He says I have the drinking habits of a 40 year old man. He also doesn't understand how I can appreciate the taste of beer as something to consume without having to get drunk. I am way to lazy to defend myself, nor do I think it is necessary. Fuck him though probably.

I'm a bit jealous you guys don't have to play the kings tonight but I'm hoping cup hangovers in full effect and Kaner freaks the fuck out for 3 goals or something.

Assuming the Fratellis are getting all the royalties they're due, has a lesser known band ever made so much money from one song? That one Dropkick Murphys song in every Boston sports montage is bigger, but people have actually heard of that band.

Calvin Harris pretty cool to to fill out the soundtrack.

Must be nice to win the cup and not have to jettison your bottom 2 lines
