pretty hard to criticize the Arcade Fire for a lack of humor and charisma then turn around and put on a Lana Del Rey album

this is real good. just like the new The Feelies was.

two more bands that would do well at the end of an episode of Twin Peaks.

Can't stand the new Arcade Fire album. Their albums have all followed a single concept. When the songs are good, it makes for nice listening and distracts from the simplicity of Win Butler's conceptualizing and thinking. When the songs aren't good, thhe concept is all that there is to pay attention to, and that's not really a good thing with Arcade Fire. I dislike this album even more than I disliked The Suburbs, and I strongly disliked The Suburbs.

But what do I know. All I've been listening to for the last couple months is the Grateful Dead.

Jon Brooks killing it in '17. Loving both of these:

The new Tyler album is pretty incredible imo if any of you guys are still into that sorta thing. Music writers who think they're a lot more smart and interesting than they are will probably write a lot of articles about his personal life though, so that's too bad.

I gave it a third listen this morning & don't get it. I didn't listen to the songs he released in advance and I guess I admire how sincerely he wears the Dylan/Springsteen/70s AM rock influence on his sleeve.

You could listen to an iTunes preview of each song & predict the BNM at P4K but I was intrigued by the high rating at TMT.

Each listen though I've either fallen asleep or caught myself falling asleep. I guess that "Chain" song is alright.

i'm still mad at Frank for putting a shitty Jay-Z verse at the front of "Biking"

i would be listening to that song a lot more if it weren't for that

I have been enjoying the new LCD Soundsystem. It doesn't feel as bold-quotes "important" as his previous albums but there are a few really strong tracks on here. Glad to hear a new album from The National also.

I enjoy hearing older white men complaining about upper-middle-class living, clearly.

While Greg gives it a Buy It, it pains Jim to give American Dream a Trash It. He's annoyed at hearing a 47-year-old complain about being old. According to Jim, the new album has lost the sense of humor, groove, and songs of the previous records, and he will never listen to American Dream again for pleasure.

Have been listening to this song a lot recently. I didn't like it on first listen but something about that drum stomp and the harmony of the chorus stuck and I keep going back.

    Haven't watched that video.
