    Lately we've spent a lot of time reading and rereading and rereading books by Kazuno Kohara. I think they're awesome - short, entertaining and with fantastic illustrations. Recommended!

    Picked this up for J-Jenz. It was a fav of her older sister, when she was a toddler/emerging reader.

    Great pictures. Only a handful of words. Everyone who reads this book with her tells the story differently. She can "read" it too.

    I'm a big fan of the author, David Wiesner. He's got some great books for kids. Two Caldecott winners.

    I don't think I've ever read a bad Caldecott winner. Always check them before you buy. Make sure they are at the right reading level for the kid you are buying for.
