We were at a party at Jessica Darrow's talking about how things like screws, lightswitch plates, plumbing pieces and other assorted hardware / home improvement crap that accumulate because it's perfectly usable, but you never actually end up using it.

Last night I was Paul Stanley in full Kiss regalia playing an unidentifiable song on acoustic guitar to a couple dozen middle aged folks seated in metal folding chairs, in a secluded area of NYC Central Park in the early '70s. Gene Simmons appeared mid-song, also in full Kiss garb, playing acoustic bass. Later a couple old session musicians in plain clothes magically appeared with an electric guitar and a full drum kit. Simultaneously, mine and Gene's instruments became electric and the four of us rocked it hard for the barely interested crowd. Also, at some point the location changed to a park a few blocks from my childhood home.

my dream last night was a bizarrely complicated curb yr enthusiasm ep featuring david allen grier, tommy davidson, jim carrey, gary shandling, jay-z and beyonce. at halftime of the nets game beyonce spun a ball on her head and them jumped towards the hoops and made a layup. earlier, larry david gave me permission to use his "cabin in the woods" that did not exactly exist, but was just a bargaining chip for purposes of social status. i used my permission to use the cabin to get a seat at the jay-z, shandling & in living color crew's VIP table after the game and invited them to an afterparty at that cabin that didn't exist (the party, or the cabin).

Get out of my dreams...get into my board.

Just curious...were you hanging out with Fiscal Cliff Burton (i.e. the Gentleman from my old avatar random meme generator JPG), with the poster you imagine Fiscal Cliff Burton to be, or with Vivian Darkbloom?

I've had dreams involving Hewlett's Daughter, Girl with Asprin, Vamos Scorcho (shudder) and Techno Raj.

    That T-shirt was worn ironically.

Maybe that regrettable image should be the first post in a re-up of that terrific Wolf T-shirt thread from the old board.

I'm visiting Lollapalooza with my church youth group from when I was a kid. We're all in line to get in for what seems like hours. We try to go to the special entrance gate for registered groups, but we don't meet the requirements so we're turned away. Somehow we still find a way in so we wander through crowds, drifting aimlessly around without any apparent plan. I pick up a schedule I find on the ground and see that Factory Floor is playing at the festival. But which day? It doesn't say! Very soon after that we walk by a stage and I see that they're there, only no one is watching them. Some people are lined up at the edge of the stage and are using it as a bar, resting their beers on it as they heckle the band mercilessly. I go to get my friends but when we come back, they've been booed off the stage and they're done playing.

Later I get separated from the rest of the group and go to watch Green Day. A girl I used to know is watching them and I'm too nervous to go near her for some reason so I go to watch New Order. By now it's night and they're playing on a huge stage, only hardly anyone is watching them and those that are are sitting on the ground. They play a bunch of unrecognizable songs and try to get the crowd to clap along with each one. Then the crowd grows huge and I'm pushed towards the front of the stage. For a moment I think I'm going to be crushed, but the band stops playing and implores everyone in the crowd to take several steps back. Suddenly I'm wisked away so far back that I can barely see them anymore. The concert is over and people begin driving home, driving their cars straight through the crowd. I wonder if I'll be able to return again tomorrow (hopefully on my own) and examine the bracelet I'm wearing to see if it's good for the whole festival, but it's in another language.

Only board dreams I can remember were C-Poots hitting me up on MSN Messenger to ask me about my gender and going camping w/ Avec in rural Devon.

was at a basement bar in the city, sort of like baby atlas (in terms of getting there), but the room was much larger and had tables and seats. there were 4 of us. i went to get drinks at the bar and david byrne showed up. i was excited to see him and told him he should join us, which he did very politely. then we just sat around uncomfortable and no one really talked about anything and i felt like we were taking advantage of his politeness and i should have told him he was free to leave whenever he wanted. we eventually ordered thai food from the place next door.

I was attending a show at the Tweeter center. Me, my brother, and a couple musician/drug/random cool dudes we used to hang out with in Ventura CA were there to see Marshall Stacks and Harshest Realm double bill. It was very surreal, and somehow before the show even began, Tweeter center had morphed into Mount Trashmore in Norfolk VA (I think it was called "Mount Trashmore," it was an ex-garbage dump turned into an outdoor concert venue with the stage down low and sloping hills... cool place, saw Def Leppard and Journey play there about 6 years ago).
Anyway, I wasn't sure which band was opening, but it turned out to be Harshest Realm, only Harshest Realm never got to the stage. They (he) was replaced by the early 90s Red Hot Chili Peppers featuring Garret Basston on guitar. He was rocking basketball shorts and some band t shirt he posted on the members-only Ninja Turtles Fan Forum one time. RHCP were of course shirtless and running around like a bunch of damn maniacs. The place was going nuts, but everything slowed down like in Wayne's World when Cassandra sings and Wayne hears Dream Weaver. Marshall Stacks grew in omnipresence and some shit was most definitely about to go down but then I had to wake up early and I'm not sure what happened.

Having difficulty remembering the specifics of my dream last night, but it was a weird, multipart thing. At first I was living in new episodes of the popular tv show House and Hugh Laurie kept diagnosing me with weird, scary diseases. Just when I thought I was going to die for sure, I "woke up," but only by entering another dream. It was about Some Girl, but it was only indirectly sexual in that we were lying in bed and then she made me pancakes. I wonder if she will ever join this board and see this.

Was driving with a friend and for whatever reason Belinda Butcher was in the back seat. I said something to my friend who didn't believe me, and I asked Belinda if I was right. She answered with a dispassionate, "Yes."

would love to see a members-only Ninja Turtles Fan Forum-centric 'Duff'll Paint It' version of this:

Had a dream where I was lined up at the drive through of a bank that was converted into a winery. We were going to have a tasting outdoors but then we got herded indoors because of technical difficulties. I drank a couple of glasses or really good wine and started fiddling with a beautiful delux cd version of Then: The Early Years. I woke up before I could figure out a way to rip it to my iPhone.

No actual loppers in that dream but many in spirit.

a sub-plot in one of my recent labyrinthine melatonin dreams was that my Italian mate Cesco was producing a 'Giallo-Noir' remake of They Live and I suggested that Ned Braden would be perfect for the Roddy Piper role.

this didn't come to anything in the dream but i'm seeing him later today so i'll let you know.
