Damn I didn’t really care for stp then
But this is some nostalgic music
Plush has those tones
They’re actually so psychedelic
They take you back
To those 90$ daze
Really listen to how trippy plush is
Don’t take my word for it
Signed, 90$ music guru

This is, of course, exactly how I should feel having been a teenager in the 90s. Perhaps it is the single most predictable opinion I could ever express?
I didn't want to feel this way, after all this is following the exact behaviors and beliefs of our parents, who fell into the nostalgia trap because they were really the first generation who had that teenage experience and were raised in an idyllic boomtime that molded them to eventually feel this way as they reached middle age and beyond. Perhaps that cultural generation gap was already forming before the 50s/60s but surely it must've been very difficult to really enjoy and internalize thanks to wars, depressions and the overall lack of material comforts that we take for granted today.
Ultimately this comes down to feeling like I no longer know if I can trust my own ears or evaluate music in any objective or remotely fair capacity whatsoever. It is difficult to say anything further about this without inviting whataboutisms.
