    Well, it wasn't standard in San Francisco. The same pack was over $7 at pretty much every store I can recall.

    big city vice taxes are weird. i'm sure Camels are $3.50 a pack if you go 100 miles outside of Chicago too. Berkeley has its own set of crazy property tax levies and other things that make it an expensive place to live, but you're right.

    Berkeley is only 15 miles outside of San Francisco, but yeah, I get what you are saying I guess.
