WP64...I don't care if you claim to be so cynical as to be incapable of thinking that everyone and everything doesn't suck. If there was a god, he would strike you dead and call you a fag to your face upon learning that you recently attended a How To Dress Well show at Co-Prosperity Sphere. So thank your lucky stars that there isn't.

I think you are confusing cynicism with me making some pretty light-hearted comments towards Michael K. But hey, resorting to master rhetoric is cool, good job!Paves wrote:WP64...I don't care if you claim to be so cynical as to be incapable of thinking that everyone and everything doesn't suck.

Why do you feel cool, exactly? What's cool about you? What's cool about anyone? Where has being cool gotten you as of late? I am honestly curious.

Re: 4/11-4/14
I have a terrible self-esteem and generally perceive of myself as being beneath most people. I generally gravitate towards people who are fairly dispassionate and lacking in any concrete exterior aesthetic. I really don't try to distinguish myself from anyone and don't think that there is any value in doing so. Trying to be exceptional is very stupid.
That isn't to say that I hate people and am too jaded to hold a conversation. Just trying to be live a life of kindness and compassion towards others. There is no way that I will ever be able to understand the struggles and adversities that so many people face in their lifetime and I am weaker because of it. But I can try my best to relate to them by suspending judgement.

Re: 4/11-4/14
every single WP post in this thread has been banworthy. even the "painful self-reflection" stuff that reads like something i would write is terrible because this is a thread Michael K made about going to Chicago and has nothing to do with your dumb bullshit, so don't post about it.

I enjoy reading about WP's college life, but the worldview/misinformed bullshit posts are mind-numbing, like when he claimed that Bridgeport has a predominantly Irish population and that someone looking to avoid gentrification and college students should move to Lakeview.

I thought steak was a thing in Chicago. I guess I'm confusing parts of the midwest for the whole. Where should I eat then? What should I see/do? There must be multiple helpful threads back on members-only Ninja Turtles Fan Forum.

There are a bunch of high-end looking steakhouses downtown. Never been to any, though. Places are usually occupied by businessmen. However, I can't say it's any business of mine, quite frankly! Do you like hot dogs?

There are definitely classic macho steak joints Downtown but the city is mostly moving away from that kind of thing. Are you looking for high-end or just a ggod meal?

Re: 4/11-4/14
LTH forum is the best single resource for researching restaurants. If you want to eat casual, this list is pretty helpful:
http://www.lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=32598
I can vouch for quite a few restaurants on that list. But you can search all over that board for whatever it is you're looking for.
Some more interesting suggestions here:

It definitely is, but only because midwesterners are a bunch of fat, meat-eating fucks, and Chicago's stockyard heritage. Not because the steaks here are particularly mind-blowing.Michael K. wrote:I thought steak was a thing in Chicago.

If you want to taste elite meats in Chicago, I'd recommend the more modern/artisinal Publican or its neighboring cafe Publican Quality Meats. Less meat-centric, Girl & the Goat is another hotspot for midscale modern/rustic cuisine.
Raj knows more about good downtown dining than I do. His links probably recommend these same places, and plenty more I'm not hip to.

Actually Miguel, I think you'd really dig The Purple Pig on Michigan. Elite dining with a strong emphasis on European wines. Not sure your opinion on communal seating but awesome place all in all.

Sure. And as I have made abundantly clear I don't think that my worldview is even close to well-formed, how could it be?
