Sucks that GB shit the bed and lost out on a #2 seed. But at least this knocks the Bears out.

Re: NFL Discussion
People are talking about Seattle as the team no one wants to play but the Redskins look tough.

Talent gap between the two teams on defense is enormous. Seattle especially stingy vs. inside runners like Alfred Morris.
The math doesn't look good for the Redskins but at least they have playmakers.

Re: NFL Discussion
I like the Jets, the Steelers and the Giants.
Which bandwagon should I ride? I'll consider anyone but the Pats and Pete Carroll's team.

die hard fans of any of those franchises would crucify you for being fans of the other
if you can love the Jets AND the Giants, why can't you open your heart to Tom Brady?

I'll pick one when they stop sharing a stadium in New Jersey.

Are you looking for some cool storylines to pick a horse for the playoffs then?

This used to happen to me all the time when I still cared about football but I suppose that was prophetic.jasperness wrote:There's 12 teams, you don't like any of them?

Re: NFL Discussion
I will admit though that American football is the only sport where I can have no emotional investment in the outcome of the game and still enjoy watching it.

Re: NFL Discussion
I care about the NFL, but don't have a single favorite team. I just root for teams with great quarterbacks* and high-powered offenses to do well so that I can see them in the playoffs.
*Eli Manning doesn't count as a great quarterback. Fuck that guy, and fuck the Giants. Those luckboxes robbed the Patriots of two dynasty-cementing championships. That said, I enjoy watching Giants games solely due to Tom Coughlin's incredulous red-faced reaction to anything that doesn't go his way.

Re: NFL Discussion
I can't watch every Raider game because they're too ugly and I hate the types of teams and players management consistently throw on the field. They're still "my team" though.
I love watching the Niners because they are my "secondary team" from across the Bay and they actually put a great product on the field and have an enviable organization (now they do, anyway).
I'm not a homer by any stretch though. I really root for well managed teams, excellent coaches, and great players. Your Green Bays and your Patriots and whatnot. I respect immensely what Denver has done this year even though they are a chief division rival and hope they lose everything.

Re: NFL Discussion
As a long suffering Bears fan I wound up having a couple back up teams, in the AFC.
I can almost always get behing the Steelers or Raiders.
I'm a big fan of the way Belichick coaches the Pats.
