Re: NFL Discussion
Did anyone here watch the XFL this year? Seems like they were getting their shit together and correcting every mistake they made the first time around.
The season got cancelled a month ago and now it seems that the entire league has fired everyone and completely folded.

Who is the most interesting dude in the NFL?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laurent_Duvernay-Tardif
For example, they would need to be more interesting than this dude

Re: NFL Discussion
I am back on the Bears bandwagon. I stopped watching football after Chris Conte blew the coverage on week seventeen and let Aaron Rodgers throw a fifty yard game winning touchdown on fourth down to deny them a playoff birth. That moment put me over the edge as a fan. Ever since they got Khalil Mack and have been more fun to watch (especially defensively) I would watch a few games, but nothing very serious.
I still am not going to get too emotionally invested in this godawful franchise. But everything sucks now and it would be pretty cool if the Bears made it into the playoffs and somehow snuck themselves into the NFC Championship game or something. I'll take anything I can get at this point.

I’ve been super impressed with the Packers and could see them winning 11 games this season if everyone stays healthy.

Re: NFL Discussion
I picked up Rodgers on my fantasy team. I knew he was gonna have a huge comeback. I think the Pack make a run for the next 2-3 years at the top of the NFC.
Foles can flourish in this offense, and for him to flourish the offense has to be right. But, he won't stay healthy. Pace, having orchestrated the worst drafting record in the history of the sport simply has to go at the end of this year.

Re: NFL Discussion
I was a skeptic of the new rule changes for safety that came about a while ago, and I feel like the league went through a few years of growing pains involving learning by coaches, players and referees. But, in the current season: apart from the occasional gaffe call:
I think I will admit I was wrong and I may be in the minority:
But, I like the NFL changes they have made. The game seems to have adjusted, and the players seem to get hurt less: so, I say bravo to the NFL for keeping the product pretty great and also addressing the injuries to QBs and concussions. Last night the Giants and Eagles, two of the leagues' bottom feeders, entertained the shit out for me 3 quarters.
GO BEARS! Down Syndrome boy Trubisky is finally gone!

Feel pretty damn good about pizza-ing that classic simpsons clip without understanding what it is in reference to and without having watched, read about, understood, or given a shit about whatever NFL football is in 2020.

I literally never got over that play. It won't be nearly as dramatic but the Packers are going to oust the Bears from the playoffs once again today. Absolute dumpster fire of a professional sports franchise.

Re: NFL Discussion
Packers are playing for the top seed and Bears have a chance to get in. Should be a good game?
I’m mostly worried about Rodgers getting hurt.

Re: NFL Discussion
I love the idea that for Packers fans they can just casually tune into what should be a "good game" while from my perspective any personal investment I have in that rivalry is basically an exercise in self-harm. Die-hard Bears fans are basically piss pigs at this point.

Re: NFL Discussion
If CBS 2 Chicago cannot provide a digital broadcast signal that actually works then they do not deserve a broadcast license. This is not a "bad" screenshot to try to make them look bad, this is as good as it gets in any 5-minute stretch of watching.
This is not 2.1 but 48.3, which was supposed to be the go-to for people who can't get 2.1 to work.

Re: NFL Discussion
I could end up eating these words but I’d rather the Packers play the Rams with a broken thumbed QB and possibly the best player in the league struggling with an injury than the Bears a third time.

Two minutes after making that post I moved my digital antenna and it fixed everything.
So I could watch the rest of the most boring game I’ve ever tried really hard to stay invested in.

Craig Robinson is one of my favorite guys ever just when it comes to like existing and saying words and stuff.
Seeing him in an old school pizza hut with brick and arcade games talking about pacman made me smile. For all I know this isn't even a new commercial, but I'm just gonna come right out and call it the best super bowl commercial of all time.

Re: NFL Discussion
You have the best QB in the league in Aaron Rodgers and you don't go for it there? That's a shame. Stoops. But, glad to see him fall flat on his face.
Andy Reid looked so stupid in that mask he had to lose.
I was also happy to see Mahomes fall flat on his face. Yeah, I still wish the Bears picked him, but at least we didn't lose the GOAT. Teams usually fall apart after big losses like this. KC really imploded, I don't see them getting back next year.

Re: NFL Discussion
So, will Bellicheck get the last laugh?
Will Mac Jones be the best QB in this draft? I am presuming yes, until otherwise proven wrong.
Justin Fields might not go down as the greatest ever, but it's going to be exciting as hell. He and Cutler are the most gifted physically to ever play QB for the Bears.... But, as far as I can tell, Justin Fields has a better attitude. He also seems like the perfect match for Nagy's style of play: similar gifts to Mahomes.

Re: NFL Discussion
Mac Jones could be the next Tom Brady.
His numbers are outstanding. I think he will be potentially the best QB in this draft, in that system. And, he should be cheap for the first 5 years.
He eclipsed all other QBs in this 3rd year as a pure passer:

But about 1000 yards.
