The first series of Twin Peaks is great but Lynch's signal to noise ratio has always been fairly even. I'd be 'cautiously optimistic' about anything he does.

I've never seen a minute of the original Twin Peaks, and will probably dive into this new series blind under the assumption that 1) it'll be as good as the best modern dramas, and 2) prior knowledge isn't a prerequisite for enjoyment, a la FX's Fargo.

Twin Peaks coming back is such great news. Those two seasons are still better than 90% of what is on today.

Or you could just watch the first two season? I mean, you have until 2016...

There is no caution in my optimism. I actually stumbled upon that tweet after finishing the 7th episode of Season 2 (those who've watched will understand my frame of mind). I'm only five episodes of away from the end right now. There is an obvious drop off in quality, yeah, but that shouldn't be an issue in the upcoming season.

Also, this is the first time Lynch is gonna pick up a camera (with the exception of some Internet shorts, commercials, and music videos) since Inland Empire, which came out when I was 12 years old. That alone should be cause for some unchecked excitement, yea?!

Did you guys know that Daryl Hall has a home remodeling show? I stumbled across it, the other day, and my mind was blown. I don't watch much television, so maybe that's why this whole thing seems, to me, so strange and impossible.

Better Call Saul was very boring but I wasn't much of a Breaking Bad fan. I liked this character though so wanted to give it a chance.

I really enjoyed Breaking Bad, but I didn't think last night was anything particularly enjoyable or well-done. Or even "in character." That said, it wasn't nearly as bad as I'd anticipated. A small victory, I suppose.

On season 2 of Breaking Bad right now and this "Saul" character hasn't been introduced yet but thanks to the Internet and TV I know he's coming and I can probably make a few safe guesses about him and what happens/doesn't happen to him already. Trying my best to avoid spoilers (scrolled past the last few posts really quickly) so this whole thing couldn't have come along at a worse time.

Mad Men was tough last night. For the first time this season I had that sad feeling that holy shit this is coming to an end.

Don roaming the Midwest, Roger defeated and uncertain but Peggy's walk down the hallway had so much attitude and fuck you to it. It was everything that makes this show wonderful and different from anything else on TV.

I was ok with it. The only annoying part to me was peggy and stan finally getting together. It was handled way too bluntly for the show.

I like Joan going out on her own, Sally stepping up and running things, and that crazy hippy retreat.

I hated the Stan and Peggy being in love ending. That seemed so forced and I didn't buy it. I thought they did a big disservice to Betty. Her last shot is sitting at the table smoking. Really? That was the best they could do?

I am fine with Don's ending. That didn't bother me it was all the other characters' endings seemed rushed like Weiner was told the week before he had to end this thing.

I think I might have lied, it's been so long since I watched it that thinking about it now, I'm not really sure if I'm qualified to answer. I will say that I don't remember ever being bored by it and that the best is yet to come but if your interest is wavering at this point then I don't know.

    kmac liked it, irrc.
