Re: So this is Christmas
I figure the only way to try to unite around the holidays between my couple of lefty cousins and the rest of my Trump-supporting family is for us to have a laugh about the cabal of pedophiles that actually control the world.

Re: So this is Christmas
I’m so excited for Christmas this year.
Actually not really.
I’m trying so hard though to muster up some holiday cheer in the next couple days!

Yeah, basically sipping glüwein and watching all the Bob's Burgers Christmas episodes hoping to feel something.

The lite FM radio station that goes all Christmas music after Thanksgiving, as well as whatever the "sounds of the season" (or whatever it's called) satellite radio station that follows me around wherever I go, are trying to turn "Hallelujah" into a Christmas song.

Re: So this is Christmas
My office had an in person, vaccinated only holiday party yesterday. It was great seeing people that I’ve worked with for over a decade but hadn’t seen in close to 2 years - not counting Zoom calls.
Out of an office of close to 100 only 25 showed up and I’m sure plenty of people would scold us for gathering. But fuck it, it was fun and felt wonderful to connect like that again.
Hugging a co-worker and saying Merry Christmas is an underrated feel good thing.

Re: So this is Christmas
This Xmas season has been rough. Worked 71 hours this week. I resigned as union rep in my office a couple weeks ago. A coworker filed labor charges against me for spiteful reasons. So have been dealing with an attorney and refining my statement against the charges.
My coworkers can suck my dick. Merry fucking Christmas!
Looking forward to Christmas Day off!

Ugh. So sorry Coyote. That's absolute bullshit.
Seasons blessings though. I hope you enjoy the day off.

Re: So this is Christmas
The traditional Christmas dinner has turned into a backyard hang for us once again. Could be worse.

Re: So this is Christmas
We don't really do a big xmas thing anymore. Just hung out at home with my immediate family watching movies with my wife and playing video games as I have been since the start of the pandemic.
Business as usual.

I made from scratch chicken & cheddar dumplings for a different spin as our X-mas dinner.

Re: So this is Christmas
We had ordered all the food so we made dinner anyway and sent everyone with tupperware. Felt like we were catering someone else's christmas dinner. But it was beef tenderloin and broccoli with cheese sauce so it was awesome even if it wasn't super fresh.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with friends and family. For anyone that struggles to get through this time of year I wish you all the positive thoughts and support I can via a message board.
My wife and kids gave me pajama pants, socks and an electric nose hair trimmer so I’ve reached Peak Dad Xmas Gifts.
My Dad gave me a picture of my Mom holding me as a toddler that I’ve never seen before and it wrecked me pretty hard yesterday but I’m using it for strength today and going forward.

Merry Christmas you guys. Wishing you all the absolute best of seasons in these otherwise wtf times.
We are staying in and I’m cooking a pie and chimichangas. Then we’re gonna do a movie marathon. First Blood because it’s a family tradition, followed by a Bob Clark double feature of A Christmas Story and Black Christmas.

Re: So this is Christmas
I forget it's not just the birth of Christ we're celebrating but the resurrection of boarding.
My first read was "cooking a pie with chimpanzees".

Re: So this is Christmas
I personally he got back up again so we could board, but that's Easter, not Christmas. Sorry to miss the Christmas wishes, but I'm here now so happy new year too.
