"Cookie Swap" today! People seemed happy, carrying away 25 cookies on a plate. That's easily a year's supply for me - no sweet tooth. I took 3, including one dreidel.
Got the same card as everyone else that said "Thank you for your awesomeness" and had a $100 Target card.

We're doing a week-long secret Santa thing, and I've been receiving garbage from the dollar store. My recipient is one of a handful of people I'd be gifting to anyway, so I'm stretching the spending limit and getting good shit for her from The Mexican Shop.

We just had a safety stand down day which involved viewing pictures of DUI deaths, watching videos of flash burning Christmas trees, and talking about suicide. After the new year, we'll lighten it up a bit and have a post-holidays holiday party.

We are having fajitas for lunch at work today and a bake off / happy hour to end the day. The team I manage gave me a bottle of Bulleit yesterday so I am in the Holiday spirit. Plus my Death Metal Santa statue at my desk has gone over really well.

My year-end bonus is one-third the amount it's been for at least 4 years now.

My wife got a bonus this year, first time it's ever happened in our family. My bonus generally consists of trophy bottles from wine reps. 3 magnums and a handful of 750s this year. Plus a book on Barolo & Barbaresco, which is much more exciting for me to receive than it is for you to read about.

We don't get year end bonus until March. Fucking fiscal calendars.

Our public agency employer held an "Ugly Sweater Party" with a $45 cover charge. The beer selection apparently included 2 six packs of Sam Adams and a truckload of Coors Light in cans. I am happy that I elected not to attend.

There was an office potluck on Monday which I skipped, but I've been liberally raiding the break room fridge for leftover lasagna and hummus all week.

I will probably get coal in my stocking and a visit from Krampus this year for my lack of workplace holiday cheer.

I don't know man. If I were Santa I'd be proud of you for how you played that one.

we did some 12 days of xmas thing (ugly sweaters, holiday hat, holiday socks, caroling, etc, ad nauseam). participation netted you tickets, which you could put into a raffle drawing for various prizes.
i went to the office for 3 of these 12 days.

apparently they gave everyone $50 victoria's secret gift cards which another company in our organization ended up with due to some barter deal. so we got that going for us.

yesterday at the holiday party (i did not attend, i'm out of state), all of the money that was raised this year through various events was donated to the make-a-wish foundation. And...the child it will help was there. so i guess good on you, office.

Co-worker received her American citizenship so some people are having a USA themed party today in her honor.

I definitely want a flag cookie or a piece of the flag cake but I want to avoid having to give some fake ass congrats on being an American platitude. This is like an all afternoon deal and if I wait too long these jackals will have eaten everything.

Last day in the office for over a week!

I take my team out to lunch this afternoon and then a few hours later we have the office holiday party with beer, wine & Nando's catered in.

Spending the time in between listening to shit on Spotify that Fact Mag has listed in their best of album lists.

Our Christmas party last Friday got cancelled cause not enough people bought tickets to pay for it. Our CO was furious for the lack of enthusiasm, but oblivious to the fact that he was the reason for it. One more month and I'm done with this shit forever. Though I suspect this shit is universal, so one more month til I know for sure.

I kept reading Nando's as Nintendo and was mind blown. Sounds amazing either way. My old place in England was right next to a Nando's... miss that place.
