An acquaintance of mine died/.

I only met him a couple of times so I'm not like, particularly sad about it or anything. He was a good guy, worked as a chef, always bought drinks for everyone/paid for our taxis, literally said 'let's get some class A's' every time I saw him, seemed kind of unstable a lot of the time, witnessed one full blown breakdown and one dejected episode.

Might just be that I'm getting older but since my grandpa died a couple years ago hearing about deaths is hard on me.

That picture in the OP made me emotional.

The OP combined with the anonymous nature of that photo is really fucking with me right now.

Apparently he hung himself like Ian Curtis. I do actually feel kind of sad now.

Some people I know had their friend get hit by a car and their other friend die in a boating accident about six months apart. I'd met both of them. One of them went to college with me and lived at my friends house for years. He was a very nice, unassuming dude. I went to his last birthday and met his parents.

I don't know how to feel about young people dying. I mainly just feel numb/apathetic. It doesn't make sense to carry it with you though so I just try and forget.

My favorite teacher from high school (AP U.S. History) died of pancreatic cancer last year and I didn't go back after I graduated to say goodbye. I have no idea whether I regret that or whether that would have been unnecessary.

The great thing about being dead is you don't have to care what people think of you anymore.

My childhood best friend's father died, last week, after a brief and ugly struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was a great, great man. Check out this sweet pic of my bud and the man himself. Taken at Santa's Village! I'm gonna miss this guy so much, but I'm as glad to have known him as I am sad to have lost him.

I remember riding that cable car thing with my parents at Santa's Village when I was 7 or 8. I haven't thought about that for a really long time until now.
