I worked with a dude who'd heard of David Bowie, one time.

This old guy who works in the office saw me out on the beer one night wearing a Motörhead t shirt and ever since then he's been trying to get me into some new rock band called "shine down" that is apparently super heavy.

Dudes at work have referenced Foxygen, particularly about them being featured on Sound Opinions. There has also been some buzz surrounding something called Americanarama.

I could be wrong but they might be talking about the music event featuring Bob Dylan, My Morning Jacket, & Wilco over at Toyota Park.

Also, none of that shit touches the bullshit I deal with on a daily basis. I wake up fairly frequently to the chicks in my hall bumping Purity Ring. I mentioned Best Coast once and they all almost dropped to their knees because I knew who that was. Ridiculous.

Yeah, I'm definitely a lot more down with the unsound musical opinions of old dudes than those of college chicks.

Last month "Muslim chick" told me to listen to some band called Kishi Bashi. I did. It sucked.

I don't know. He's got a Joker tattoo on his forearm, an eyebrow ring and evidence of several failed piercings on his earflesh. I'm still piecing together the evidence without engaging him in casual conversation. I'm already going to have to talk to him about how he shouldn't following people around blathering on about hockey or how many footlong Subways he eats for lunch instead of working if he's expecting to be employed next week.
