So this movie isn't quite bad enough for us to ironically fawn over. I don't recall much about it except for it being a quintessential Will Smith film. Decent pinball machine!

On July 4 I saw White House Down, the new movie from Independence Day director Roland Emmerich.
It was one of the most incompetently made movies I've seen in quite a while. And I say that as someone who goes out of his way to see a lot of awful movies.
At the end of the film a woman stood up and said "let's all go demand our money back!" And I was thinking "yeah! America's through with your bullshit, Hollywood!"
But she actually meant they wanted their money back because the A/C had been off the whole time. I had just assumed the sweating and difficulty breathing was my body's psychosomatic response to the movie.

About a million years ago I was obsessed with Eliot Smith's XO and this girl I was super into and unsurprisingly turned out to be gay was getting ready to study abroad in Australia on July 4th so obviously I placed a great deal of importance on the song "Independence Day" starting from the very second I heard her ship off date and so that's what I think about literally every time I hear the name of this holiday.
