I do black, cotton Calvin Klein boxer briefs or trunks. They have cool colors on the elastic bands now. They also have the same styles in a technical fabric called "microfiber" or a "cotton stretch" if you want some elastalane in your cotton. I like the feel of straight cotton.

I also liked Ex Officio boxers and used to pick those up from Amazon. They're the "tech" material that's anti-microbial like Mack Weldon.

I've been rocking this sort of normcore skater look recently and it's pretty fun: https://www.instagram.com/p/BtpEXiIhfEG/

Key elements of my current aesthetic:

-Comfort. Finding a way to have some style while putting coziness front and center.
-Bold colors. I still like my black, grey, navy, Earth tones palette, but I also prioritize a pop of color or an intriguing pattern to keep it interesting.
-No collars. I have a very small number of polos and button ups, but they don't feel right these days. Crew necks, stand collars, hoods are all preferred to collars.
-Vintage. Older fits, vintage wash long sleeve tees, 100% cotton jeans, throwback styles.
-Athletic. Also enjoy lots of athletic shorts, tights, running tops/jackets, and other functional yet stylish athleisure.
-Trying new things. Seek out colors, patterns, and styles that I've traditionally stayed away from and find a way to make them my own.

Not to mention that all the designs kinda suck. Bowie would not have approved. Although in a Warholian way he may have found it amusing.

Yeah, if you just showed me those shoes without telling me that they were "Bowie-themed" I would have literally no idea. They're just a bunch of dumb and ugly shoes.

Thinking of buying some band tees to wear around the gym. Not usually my style but no reason to go there in my Sunday best. The more ridiculous the better and I'm close to talking myself into buying this one

There's a real art to a great band tee. It's gotta be something popular, but not too cliche like a Metallica or Led Zeppelin shirt. It's gotta be personally on-brand, so I can't get away with wearing a dope Selena shirt, for example. There's also a lot of band tees out there that may represent the band you want, but the shirt itself sucks or is using a bad logo or album cover. Fuck those Poetic Justice Tupac shirts.

The Daft Punk shirt I posted earlier in this thread was perfect for me. I don't have any other band tees currently in the repertoire, though I maintain a lookout.

The folks at Amplified do a pretty good job with fit and design, and I’m even ok with the “wait, why is the t-shirt sorta inside out-ish” thing that they do. I had a sick Clash shirt that I lost and still have Ramones and Motley Crue shirts. I’m a dude who is somewhere between medium and small, and their medium T’s are perfect.
    https://www.amplifiedclothing.com/browse/Mens/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMInve38_u54QIVIjPTCh0S1AdsEAAYASACEgJ7nPD_BwE

That said, haven’t bought any of their stuff for years, so maybe they’ve changed. Still rock the shit outta my two shirts tho. They’re also sorta expensive for band t shirts, but everything is cheap when you’re drunk and have a credit card and don’t care about things.

Also, Amplified is probably the Ed Hardy of band Ts. But they just fit so good.

I have a fractious relationship with punk music, as its musical sound and ethos didn't resonate with me as a child/teenager. I have enjoyed slowly getting into The Clash more over time.

This past week I got big into "Clampdown" after I saw that Beto used it as his walkout music at a campaign event (lol). Fantastic song! It segues into "murder weapons of Brixton" which I also enjoy very much. I had a huge "Charlie Don't Surf" moment at the end of 2018 as well, I think that song is absolutely incredible.

With that in mind, this shirt is very solid:
    https://www.amplifiedclothing.com/item/1185/TheClash/THE-CLASH-SANDINISTA-Black.html

Generally though, I would say Amplified is the embodiment of the style of band tees that are way too obvious, over the top, and grey grey grey.

As somebody who’s recently lived that exact same scenario, Downward Spiral followed by Pretty Hate Machine was a pretty fantastic, albeit sorta “duh,” intro route. Haven’t dug deep yet, so.

I agree The Downward Spiral is the best starting point & one of my favorite albums ever.

I’d also encourage you to check out the run of 3 EPs they just put out.

The Fragile feels more relevant than ever and while “Starfuckers Inc” is irredeemable the album overall is fascinating.

Only band/artist shirt currently in my rotation.  It's a Carly Rae Jepsen shirt, yes. Haven't really worn any others in quite a few years.

I almost bought a Mariah Carey t-shirt before leaving for Italy and regret not doing it. I'd rock the shit out of a Selena t-shirt. I have a t-shirt of just the London Calling album cover that a friend gave me years ago because it no longer fit them. I wear it a lot actually and went through a really big Clash phase last year. They're fucking awesome. "Spanish Bombs" is an unbelievable piece of music.

One of the few things I get nostalgic about are sneakers from the 90s. I was scrolling through this article earlier: https://www.complex.com/sneakers/2011/10/the-90-greatest-sneakers-of-the-90s/

I had 10 of the pairs on the list with the Nike Air Force Max being my favorite. Footlocker has an updated version available for $160. That amount for sneakers is crazy to me now.
