    The Beatles | The Beatles
The Velvets | White Light/White Heat
The Boss | The Wild, The Innocent, and The E Street Shuffle
Various | A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector
Belinda Carlisle | Heaven on Earth
Talking Heads | Stop Making Sense
    U2 | Achtung Baby
Brian Eno | Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)

These're all without a doubt top-50 kinda records for me, but, like avec, it would also probably be different in a week. No Fleetwood Mac, no Miles, no Sonny Sharrock, no Bollywood soundtracks (Guide and Sholay, among many others, are all-timers), no Misfits, no Boston, no MBV...no nothin', really!

I believe all of our lists fluctuate. You don’t come upon a group of elite bros like this and expect a top 8. I think most of the albums listed on this page would be on my top 100.

Enjoying how these lists are reminding me to revisit albums I’ve not listened to in a while. Bell Witch are terrific. Mirror Reaper is excellent & I listened to Four Phantoms late last night for the first time in a couple years & it felt so fucking heavy. Just sitting in the dark, alone & allowing their doom to wash over me.

It really is. Great example of a band getting some attention after a great debut stepping up their sound in the exact way they needed to without really repeating themselves. It really deserved better in its time.
