Environments 3 - Be In (A Psychoacoustic Experience)
Field recordings from a Be In that took place in Central Park, nyc on April 6 1969. It has more of a collage feel than others in this series. It’s hard to tell if the recordist was slowly moving around the crowd or standing still. Around 11 mins in, a song about legalizing weed comes in and it’s great in that stupid campfire kinda way. I wonder how many of these people are now full trump? This is a very cool document I’d recommend it for fans of field recordings or interested in weird documents from the late 60s
Numero Group has the entire environments series. I’ve also enjoyed Summer Cornfield.

A lovely album.
You don't happen to own a physical copy of this, do you?
I have a question about it and I need to find someone who does.
I have been in a fruitless quest to find out who the artist was who made the album cover art for this album. There are no details about this online at all.
I finally got the CD of it recently and you wouldn't believe my anticipation as I carefully removed the liner notes to look inside.
The folded paper slotted into the plastic jewel case is blank on the inside.

I can't help you. But can confirm that this album is still excellent. KODOMOTACHI, with its spooky sample of Joni Mitchell wistfully crooning about how "songs to aging children come," totally haunts me.

I first heard Felt’s Forever Breathes the Lonely Word a couple weeks ago and it already could be one of my favorite albums ever.

Turning is Aaron Snow's homage to mid 90's rural psych. All songs recorded on a four track using twenty year old cassette tapes.
What would be some good mid 90's rural psych?

It's kind of like 80s pastoral pop-punk but with more of an agrarian nu-metal sound.

Have you ever listened to Elliot Smith? Maybe it’s not ‘acid trip’ music but definitely has that warm cabin in the woods feel. Id recommend his album XO.undo wrote:jesus jones wrote:here’s aaron from landing’s newest side project:

Re: Now Playing
I'm listening to the solo Jennifer Herrema discography for the second time today and it's sorta amazing how great it all is even without NMH's genius. All rock music should be this stupid and rad and brilliant and fun. I think she's probably the greatest living pure rock star and she should get a lot more cred for that.

Ned Braden I think that if you disregard jazz and classical then Link Wray is the only pre-Beatles artist I'm a fan of, good choice. (Not to say there aren't other good ones, I'm sure there are, I haven't heard them)

I’m at the point in my Work From Home sojourn where in between endless Zoom calls I’m playing the first 6 Aerosmith albums on repeat at high volume.

I’ve been listening to a lot of disco and house while grilling the last few sessions. I’ve heard a ton of stuff that I imagine y’all would like but this song in particular needs to be shared. This song is like a line of coke, starts off like nothing then 3 minutes later you’re naked and you can’t stop dancing!

Re: Now Playing
This song is a metaphor for the difficulties of life. For at least 4-5 minutes the listener hears 2 murderous bass notes being played in quick succession, duh daa daa, duh daa daa, duh daa daa. This is the grind of life. The grind of anything. Youre working so fucking hard and the grind will not end. Then, a change. For the last two minutes the notes change, the vibe changes, and the speed increases. This is the moment you can see the finish line, the light at the end of the tunnel, the end of something truly difficult. That last two minutes are so fucking victorious I couldn’t help but blowing up with tears. Those who’ve overcome something truly difficult might know where I’m coming from. Finished. You’ve won. It’s over and you can finally rest. Thank you lightning bolt.

Re: Now Playing
Getting hung up on genre names is boring and stupid BUT I would rather not misunderstand what this is.
is this bossa nova? Discogs does not seem to think so. I couldn't for the life of me tell you what "samba" is except it was a rhythm setting on my grandmother's organ that I used to play all the time when I was a kid.
