Re: Stereolab
I thought the whole point of the Switched On compilations was to include all the b-sides and rarities but I don't think they put this on any of them and now I'm wondering what else they've left off that I've never heard.

Re: Stereolab
This is maybe the best band that i like but have almost never listened to.
I'll hear some stereolab and think, "hmmm... that's really nice. I should spend more time listening to Stereolab." But then I go right back to not listening to Stereolab.

Re: Stereolab
The last three minutes of this sound like half the songs on Janelle Monae’s Archandroid album, and I wonder if she ever got down with this band:

Re: Stereolab
I know this is a weird thought, and you guys know how I hate being weird, but when I listen to stereolab, and this is any era, I have a thought that women should have taken the world over a long time ago.

Re: Stereolab
The thought itself is a very, every day normal sorta thought imo. Not entirely understanding how it specifically connects to Stereolab, but I feel like it connects to most things so, sure, I can get there.

Re: Stereolab
I just assume that the person who killed Mary Hansen (by accident) had never listened to Stereolab before that happened but I wonder if they ever did afterwards.
Assuming they're still alive 21 years later, in an era where all music is instantly available for free at our fingertips, it's strange to think that they never would have.

Re: Stereolab
Oh god. Honestly, I sorta hope they didn’t?
The version of hell described by that scenario isn’t one I’d want to spend time in.
Thanks for playing, and congrats on the involuntary manslaughter. Here is a sample of the beauty that you’ve destroyed.
We probably shouldn’t be allowed to drive cars.

re: Microstoria
One of the first 12" singles I ever bought was this.
https://www.discogs.com/release/50143-Microstoria-Reprovisers
For years I didn't know that I was supposed to be playing it at 45 rpm, I got very used to it being a slowed down, very murky version of what you're hearing in this.
Are the speed settings that are present on all (?) YouTube videos automatically removed for anything the site recognizes as licensed music? Because I wanted to play this at 0.75 x speed to re-experience my original encounter with this music but for some reason I cannot do this on any of the uploads of it on the site!

I’ve never listened to Not Music until this morning. It’s a really good album.

Re: Stereolab
I recently learned that Blonde Redhead's most popular song by several miles is some instrumental interlude that played in the credits of Rick and Morty or something. Could be a similar thing.
