Songs which are also about sexual fetishes

We all know that "Here Come the Warm Jets" is about the guitar tone on the song, but we surely also know that a multi-tracked Eno is singing (both "further" and to a "Father") about being down on his knees and having both "nowhere to be" and "nowhere to pee."



I actually haven't posted nearly as much about Charli Eh-Eh-XCX as I should have, relative to the amount of listening I've done since first belatedly becoming acquainted with her music, last spring.  Literally several thousand spins in about a year.  She's a new addition to my personal musical Mt. Rushmore.  And the first addition in many years.  As Ned knows, the woman has (again, literally) hundreds of songs worth hearing; most of them remain unreleased or were given away to others.

My point isn't to push Charli XCX, though.  My point is simply that I've done a lot of listening and have noticed this phenomenon in two of her songs.  In the first case, I went several months without realizing that I was (allegedly) mis-hearing the lyrics, so I'd apparently been going around thinking, "Holy shit, this is one of the oddest things I've heard in a song in a while.  Who is this woman, and how is she this forthright???"  The song is "Porsche," from Pop 2.  Like most of her other best songs, it is (at least nominally) about a car or mode of transportation.  And also getting that bread.  (Most of the other all-timers are [at least nominally] about partying.)



What I heard, leading me to assume that Charli XCX is a feeder:

Here we are in 2020, and Charli XCX has now released a record called how i'm feeling now which she only started recording last month while shut up in her house with her long-term, on/off boyfriend (a hipster douchebag named Huck Kwong).  It is the first time in years that they've spent an extended amount of time together, and (for her) the lyrics are unusually and even embarrassingly personal.  Featured is another one of her greatest-ever recordings.  "Party 4 U."  It's an astounding accomplishment.  Unusually, it is not about a car.  Instead, it's about partying.  And her boyfriend.  And how the twain meet.  But I will be damned if this song isn't also about watersports.  Prove me wrong, God damn it. I feel like the minimal visual accompaniment in this video only lends some credence to this reading.

Guess it's kinda common knowledge, but a recent p4k article - in really ugly, blatant language - revealed to me that "Tutti Frutti" is about butt sex.

Not a fetish, but "Blister in the Sun" is about, iunno, masturbation or something.

Regarding Ms. XCX, I'm...well, not proud...  I dunno.  I'm just saying that some looking around confirms that certain corners of the internet are with me on "Party 4 U."

Charli’s sexy Maebe Funke Energy of late has morphed into its own sort of fetish for me, but other than that relatively tame thing, I got very little to add to this discourse at the moment.

I'm sorry that is so much worse than I thought it was going to be.
