I had a thought about this board the other day. That we'll all continue posting for the next 30-50 years under these half pseudonyms, slowly revealing more and more about ourselves as we age, one day realizing that we're the most authentic and thick community we have. It was kinda comforting. I don't really know you guys, but I've gotten to know you guys, and I'd like to think that in some small way I love you and you love me. In 2006 I found SOMB by searching for a free, illegal download of The Hold Steady's BOYS AND GIRLS IN AMERICA and, fuck, have we come a long way. Have I, at least. But there's some kernel of that initial thrilling discovery that I feel when I log in and see new posts from you guys. I'm not a consistent poster here, but I'm always checking in and always pretty happy - content, comforted - to read your thoughts on music, politics, and domestic life.
