Was he The Last OG or an overrated douchebag?

Feels like you have to claim him as a proud/defensive Chicagoan and/or Illinois resident--like every small town in Illinois has some "Al Capone slept here!"-lore that may or may not be true or even interesting at all--but, like, this dude probably murdered lots of innocent people and spawned the archetype of post-Wild West cool dude with murder weapons that still feels like a more compelling calling to ~~people~~ men than anything remotely compassionate or rooted in collective action wank

He fought for our freedom! Our freedom to... buy* and sell shit, which is the only kind of freedom that ever really mattered in this joke of a society, if you thnik about it...

*from him and him alone, which I guess makes him an anti-govt regulations icon for the ages

For real though, I don’t know the actual answer and barely even remember that untouchables movie. My gut says that he sucked hard and was overrated. My gut also says that it is cool for a caricature of a big bad dude to have been from Chicago… I take a weird sort of hometown pride in that.
