It's been 10 years since I was in Prague but I don't recall the food being horrible.

The local cuisine was literal slop, and I think the Indian restaurant I hit up was the same one Madrox patronised before dismissing Indian food entirely. I don't know about this one, man.

Man, I really didn't mean to put a damper on Michael's holiday. My comment about being super jealous still stands.

Getting a diploma today although I graduated back in August. This was a great excuse to C the Norman campus 4 the first time (spoiler alert - it rocks ass!) and C my British buddy who lives in OKC. Gonna party here 4 a few days then go west like the pet shop boys and bro down with my bro who lives in Colorado. All in all, shaping up to be quite a fine jaunt across this grand old US of A.

Re: vacation plans
My parents booked me onto a holiday in Corsica without even consulting me, and I don't think they really understand how anxiety disorders work, nor am I particularly excited about the prospect of having to spend a week in the company of a wailing two month old baby, but I suppose I have nothing to lose and I'm really psyched now that I've heard our hotel has a swimming pool. Maybe there's a lot of good food and wine? There's probably a lot of good food and wine. We're going in September.

My trip was awesome, guys. Unpasteurized Czech Pilsner has me ruined 4 most any American beer. That baths in Budapest we're otherworldly. The various holocaust/wwii memorials and sites were eye-opening. The food - especially the simple, cheap street food - was incredible. Vienna is a city I can't wait to take my wife to.

Re: vacation plans
I am, after almost 11 months of being in the UK, finally getting the chance to visit continental Europe. I will be seeing Venice and Florence this coming week, and expect to spending a weekend in both Paris and Amsterdam in the coming month. If anyone has any non-obvious recommendations 4 either Italian city, I would love to hear them.
And back to the US at the end of October.

Re: vacation plans
I spent three days in both Venice and Florence last summer. Venice has a Guggenheim exhibit but I didn't get a chance to visit. That city is so much fun to just walk around in and U don't really need to plan anything to have a great time. I had a tough time in Florence because it was unbearably hot and I didn't have AC in the apartment I was staying at. If U R going to hit up Uffizi do it early in the morning because otherwise U will spend two hours in line. Same thing if U wanted to C Michelangelo's David. U should spend a day walking up to Forte di Belvedere (where Kim and Kanye had their wedding!) and just spend an evening looking down at the beautiful views and splitting a bottle of wine or two with your lady.
If I think of anything else, I'll let U know. Have fun!

Re: vacation plans
I just got back from spending a week in Boston and Montreal. Saw Pearl Jam at Fenway and just walked around the city and saw a lot of Cambridge. Drove up to Montreal through Vermont and spent a little bit of time in Burlington. My time in Montreal was the best and I'm somewhat serious about trying to move there someday soon.

Thanks 4 the info on Venice, it overlaps pretty well with what the girlfriend and I have planned already so I'm now even more so looking forward to our plans. Also, Boston and Montreal R both great smaller North American cities. I'm considering a move back to Boston (Harvard Square/Cambridge) after I return from the US.
Also, despite property values increasing in Canada the past few years, Montreal still has great rent prices. Go 4 it WP

weather? i've never been. i'm very much a "walk around all day" tourist, wondering if the middle of january is a crummy time to be doing that in london. i probably won't go, supposed to be saving up money. but the pound to dollar is favorable and flights aren't too bad right now.
going camping in wyoming next month tho!

London would be fine in January. Almost certainly going to be warmer than Chicago and New York that time of year. Gulf Stream keeps it nice and warm.
