Afghan Whigs was by far the highlight of Riot Fest for me today. They killed it.

Went to see Lone, Sophie, & Doss last weekend at MoMA Ps1, only to get delayed all day and only make it time for the "special guest" Skrillex. x-post Going Through Some Shit Right Now thread.

Don't know about Paves and Sausage, but I will not be in attendance. You see any of the tight bands at Heritage Fest, this weekend?

Completely forgot it was happening. I was out with pinball friends three nights in a row, then had family over yesterday for a birthday party. I'm 40 today.zappo wrote:You see any of the tight bands at Heritage Fest, this weekend?

Television's performance was up my alley, I'd say. Went to see grandpas play boring guitar solos and I was not disappointed.

I saw Television in Knoxville and enjoyed myself. I saw Nazoranai an hour after as well.
I'm currently trying to motivate my ass to get off the couch and head down to Thalia Hall for a Modern Love showcase. I should be excited for this but I don't feel like sitting on public transportation for upwards of an hour.

Demdike Stare killed it. Great video with the music, too.

Yeah, the venue was a little too big maybe because when I saw them at the Bottle the high density of people made everything much more energetic and intimate. I've seen Stott three times and I am always left sort of confused and unimpressed. But then I'll hear it put together on record and I am always smitten so whatever. The new single sounds pretty dope as well.

These guys I know are in a David Bowie cover band and they played at the Daley Center at noon today. I wonder what it was like.

I love that the south side finally has a legit venue. Being two minutes away from my house helps!

Went to David Bowie Is at the MCA today. Can't recommend this enough.
Over the past few years with my grandpa dying & my mom getting sick Bowie and Jason Molina (odd combo I know) have been the soundtrack for most of my days. This exhibit was really interactive and did a great job explaining how fucking bizarre Bowie is.
One of the last rooms is nothing but giant screens playing live footage. I watched "Jean Genie" and "Rock and Roll Suicide"'with tears in my eyes.
Thought of this thread.

Sunny.
Been telling people to enjoy my photography for the Aladdin Sane album and a surprising number of people are unsure whether I'm kidding or not.
