Funk ostentação

as i learned reading the Financial Times today, this is the name for the new "young people" music in urban Brazil. it's basically just Latin American beatmaking with sing-raps about conspicuous consumption and ballin out with big booty bitches.

i've been on YouTube a bunch today trying to figure out which artists/songs are the best out there, but it's a slog. i'm enjoying the hell out of these songs though. every video is basically a Brazillian dude in skinny jeans and gold chains and snapbacks next to a pool or in a helicopter with a bunch of chicks in bikinis. it's fantastic.

MC Guime is apparently the most popular artist in this genre. you may note that video has almost 46 million hits (which i just did, holy shit).
