Proud Dad Thread
Miniboss declared this to be her "favorite song" in the car Saturday:

Yesterday Mrs. W. was playing Jailbreak. When "Cowboy Song" comes on Miniboss gets up from the dinner table, says "This is a good song," and just starts dancing.

Re: Proud Dad Thread
Do you like Queen? I don't like Queen but I have a memory of my parents being so happy that me and my brother enjoyed dancing to them so much as children.
I realise this isn't the thread for me.

I'm not sure why I felt the need to ask if you like Queen.

Re: Proud Dad Thread
I haven't tried this yet but I'm going to play her some Queen and see what happens.
She's so into Frozen these days my guess is she'll love the band as soon as she hears its name, but she'll wonder why it's called Queen if there's not a woman singing.

Just played "Don't Stop Me Now." 2 seconds in "This is good music."
Played "Killer Queen" and she excused herself to go poop.

Re: Proud Dad Thread
My son - who likes to build and restore guitar amps - Took on my ailing '68 Bassman head as a restore project recently, and apparently went all-out on it: correcting a flawed previous repair attempt and fixing a design error in the bias circuit. I received this update message from him last night (apparently sent from his band's practice space):
Can't even remember the point where he passed his old man up on crushing it.
Here is a video of it fired up.
My Epiphone Crestwood going straight in, no pedals, volume at 10.
Sounds fantastic. Still has a hair of 60hz hum from the unmatched power tubes. Side effect of the bias adjustment mod. It's very slight.
I can fix the hum by adding in a 10K trim pot to act as a tube balance. I have one on order, so I'll need to hang on to the amp another week or so. Might as well make this perfect.
On the plus side, absolutely no noise or crackling/popping. So that is confirmed to be solved.
Can't even remember the point where he passed his old man up on crushing it.

Re: Proud Dad Thread
I was singing "People Get Ready" around the house tonight. It filtered through Miniboss's brain and came back out as "Everybody get ready / We have to run away / Cause there's a train."

It was Aurora by Björk. She's sat through Aja and Marquee Moon while Mum needed a break.
