also, his dementia is getting way worse and i'm holding out hope that he'll crash out in the next couple of months. i've watched family members go through this and it's heartbreaking, but i'll be happy if it takes him out. so ready to celebrate his death.

I won't deny hoping that you're right, but I've also watched it happen.  It seems, to me, much more like he's just a regular (if irregularly empowered) stupid old man.  Very, very, very stupid, yes, but I dunno.  Again, I'm with you in spirit.  But I'm pretty skeptical.  He strikes me as a lot more together-seeming than Reagan did during his last few years.  Relatively speaking, of course!  Motherfucker certainly ain't got his shit "together."

The verdict is already in: regardless of whether or not this should be the case (it shouldn't be!), the President is above the law. It don't matter, either way.

Given how close we are to the General Election, I think the priority should be defeating him at the ballot box and I am very sympathetic to Democrats who are wary of how Trump might try to weaponize impeachment proceedings to both rally his base and further erode Americans faith in the neutrality of our political institutions (he isn't competent enough to actually do this by himself, but this would be the likely tactic of his advisers).

But at this point, they really have no choice. The man is actively bragging about using foreign intelligence to subvert our country's electoral process and is using the dubious legal concept of "Presidential immunity" to defend himself. It's obscene and irresponsible for Democrats to not intervene at this point, even if they know it is going to get shut down in the Senate.

I wrote "FDT" up in the corner of a big whiteboard that tons of people use at work. I'm sure no one knows what it means but it's been up there for like 6 months now and no one's erased it.

If you want to get people's minds working in the right direction, put a hashtag in front of that and a few people will probably figure it out.
