going through some shit right now

broke my little finger in a drawer last night. put it in a splint and went to work. 3 members of my shift called in sick with headaches, colds etc.

its a good job wars are fought at distance these days because I wouldn't want to get in the trenches with these dudes.

Just got burgled. Came home from work, back door was destroyed with a crowbar. Most likely some drug addicts as they took my tv (which I don't give a fuck about), a half a bottle of nice bourbon, my ecigs, $13 in $1 bills, and it looks like they were going to steal my Lithium. Didn't take the thousands upon thousands of dollars of music gear I had. I'm lucky as hell, but I'm moving all my gear the fuck out of here tomorrow. They even dropped my nice thinkpad on the ground.

glad they missed the good stuff, DB. i'm still replacing records from a break-in 8 years ago.

still makes me mad thinking of the cunts going through my personal shit.

I would move my gear and move the fuck out if I could. Sorry to hear it.

I don't think I'd deal with that as well as most people here would, or unfortunately have.

Which sucks considering the mostly-random and probably inevitable nature of it.

my first experience of 2014 is having a nagging head cold

this is my year of positivity though so i'm loving it!

I've had this head cold since ~12/19 that has now morphed into a chest cold. Trying to Stay Positive, but having a rough time of it.

twice now in my life i've gotten up in the darkness in the middle of the night to walk to the bathroom and been completely freaked out in my kitchen by my oven light being on and projecting light across the floor.
sentient ovens and furnaces in fiction have instilled certain fears in me.

- mice at work
- the heating doesn't work
- a car exploded outside my windows after a police chase

2 of those belong in the crushing it thread, imo.

This is Saturday and we’ve had the drain maintenance team in this morning as well as the ceiling pipes and valves maintenance team who are still here.



When we lifted the conservatory drain cover this morning we saw a lot of evidence of rats – big ones. They are coming up through the main drains as far as the drain junction under the conservatory but the three drain covers in the conservatory are well sealed and we disinfect and flush the drains weekly.



I advised everyone that, with the huge amount of construction work in our area, every rat and every cockroach disturbed in those buildings is on the move and looking for a new home and lots of food. I advised later that the pest control team let me know on the QT that almost every occupied building in this area already has a pest problem but that we don’t.



Quite some time ago we sealed up every hole and gap in the basement with special anti-rodent sealant mixed with wire wool, and also in the rest of the building wherever it was possible. This has probably saved us so far.



We must not leave a crumb, a crisp, a cornflake anywhere now. We must leave nothing lying around for them to sniff out. If they know there’s food lying around they will not stop until they find a way in. I have already found cereal packets under desks despite everything I have said previously.



So……please get heavy with your staff.



Please tell your staff that the rats are here, sniffing around beneath us and we must not give them any reason to want to get into our building. Please also remind them that it’s not just rats and cockroaches that love breakfast cereal, but also carpet beetles who like to lay their eggs in it.



Every member of staff who carelessly leaves fruit and cereal lying around is endangering everyone else. I will continue to confiscate any food left under desks whilst we are cleaning up after the ceiling maintenance.

After having a chat with Gary from Delete Pest Control Limited this morning I'm convinced I should probably work from home for a while.  It appears though that we are still "trying to get a second opinion on the seriousness of the problem".  I kind of feel that Gary could be a bit much outside work. In 2012 two separate doctors ran tests on me for unrelated ailments that revealed I have a high white blood cell count that may be indicative of Chron's Disease. I'm reading the Wikipedia article now and the sheer number of symptom boxes I tick have convinced me that I'm probably going through an early stage.

I ended up drinking through an unbelievable amount of booze last night with some people. I think we got through a case of Sierra Nevada, a case of Stella, a 12 pack of Fat Tire, and a 6 pack of Dos Equis. That was between just four of us. We started drinking at 3pm and went straight through until 3am.

I feel totally fine this morning as well which is pretty awesome. The only problem is that I actually cannot stop farting. I'm not a gassy dude but I am just sitting here posting hard as fuck and farting hard as fuck right now. Thankfully they are not odoriferous.

I could talk about this topic a lot.

I've managed to calm it down. All is quiet on the southern front.

Man, this back to school shit sucks. I literally sat on my couch for like six hours today trying to start this paper and watching E! programs and getting caught in endless YouTube wormholes instead. Finally started this shit at like 2am and I have class at 9.

Probably won't be going to bed tonight, which sucks because I have not fucking eaten in like 20 hours and I only have 5 bucks to my name right now. I'm on my fifth cup of coffee though and am absolutely banging the fucking shit out of Incesticide.

Pretty excited for the weekend already. Going to be a pretty enjoyable three or four day drunken, stress-free daze.

My head is fucking killing me right now and I'm working on this paper that I should have had done a week ago. A lot of things about my life right now have me feeling like I'm in a major rut (the biggest being this oppressive fucking weather) but I'm not quite in downward spiral mode.

Starting to feel like I might have a pretty undesirable relationship with booze. It isn't as accessible to me now (since I lost my fake a couple months ago) and it has caused me to binge drink when I do have access. My weekends are almost always a seemingly enjoyable blur and they are matched up with a week full of emotional and mental vacuity. I need to get another fake so that I can get back to my totally manageable trend of drinking responsibly while getting shit fucking done.

I can think of a few other avenues you can explore in terms of alcohol intake that may be more beneficial to your physical, mental, and emotional health.
