    Ennio Morricone, fuck.
Remember that time he won his first competitive Oscar like a decade after winning an honorary Oscar.

This is front pages news in all the Italian papers. I am kind of surprised to see how devastated people are by this. I don't think I appreciated the full impact of his music.

Seriously, fuck. He’s responsible for some of the most emotionally impactful music I’ve ever heard. One of the all time guys.

My Italian coworker brought tiramisu into work this morning. Wasn’t planned or connected to this death, just has me doubly appreciative of that country today. Maybe one of these days I’ll get to visit there again.

Man, was just watching Operation Double 007 on MST3K and saw his name in the credits and thought "No way is he attached to this crap" and then the entire score is just constantly way too much for the action on screen and I was like "Yeah, I guess that's right".

Yeah, I always forget that he did the score for The Thing, which is another thing that absolutely makes sense.

Yeah, that's heartbreaking because 1) their music was enjoying something of a renaissance, so maybe he was getting paid? 2) he was engaged 3) him and his fiancée had a kid - maybe just hers - but apparently he was a father figure

I swear I read this article from a link on the board here but now I can't find it anywhere.

Elgin location must have been the "goth club" I was hearing rumors of for years.

I lived this. If there is anything about this scene you have any question about, shoot away!

I hate bands like Nerf Herder. That singing style sucks.

I saw Eddie many times live.

I guess that his thousands of hours of amazing ideas and riffs will never see the light of day now. LOL. Personally, I'll never forgive Eddie for what he said about Michael Anthony. But, at the end of the day he seemed like the prototypical drunk maniac: when he was sober, he was an awesome guy. When we was wasted: he said some really stupid shit.
