All the US media seems to care about this week is The Olympics and The Tonight Show. And probably whatever 2" snowfall is shutting down half of the country.

The only "News" I've really seen in the past few days is Kiev protests and WhatsApp being purchased for $19 Billion dollars but it sounds like I'm not missing much.

I own a smartphone, work for a telecom company, and an app I've literally never heard of sold for $19 billion. I have no idea what the deal is with protesters being shot somewhere. Curling and the NBA have turned me into exactly the kind of person I hate.
