i keep listening to that the national album from last year but i'm not sure i even like it

Tindersticks is good sad drinking music. Lightnin' Hopkins is the best.

Have you guys been getting down to these Lewis reissues?  They're pretty fucking beautiful.  Sort of reminds me of Angelo Badalamenti, Bryan Ferry, and my little brother.  Not sure whether I like L'Amour or Romantic Times better, but they're both on repeat right now while I procrastinate on work at a Frankfurt airport.

You heard the news? They've found him! Alive and kicking! I don't know what to do w/ these albums yet, myself - strangely precious/amateur at times - but I'm not averse.

The rumour I heard was that he's some hot shot stock broker with a model girlfriend... Which would be sorta funny and appropriate. Album cover images scream high class stock broker. Music? That sounded a lot more like mystery disappeared guy.

I don't understand the hype / enjoyment of Lewis but listen to Songs: Ohia when I am down and want to have a few beers.
