I was listening to a lot of Venom last week.

"One Thousand Days In Sodom" sure has a tightass bass solo.

Like a year ago I bought some pot for the last time and ended up passing out high as fuck one night with that blasting. "Sister Ray" was trippy.

Did the same with Earth 2 the next night or night before.

I'm not that into the Interpol record, tbh.

Don't have an album cover. Can't be bothered. It's just a w/e recording.

This was my initial reaction too. And I was cautious going into it, but their sound has really held up quite well.

Had no idea that's what Nelly's record cover looked like.

Some crooning with some smooth hollow body/clean guitar work behind it.
Interesting riffing.  Overall seems pretty bizarre from sampling it, not
too familiar with the "crooning" genre lol

I'm enjoying it but it hasn't taken me in as deeply as the debut had. I don't know if I'm not giving it
enough attention or if it's just not as amazing. It is good though.

You should check out the whole book, one of my favorites. It's a great article that really influenced the way I thought about music and sound at the time. I even did an art piece that sorta revolved around the idea using time-lapse footage of a prairie and speakers placed so as you moved throughout the space the drone would change sound and "shape/texture." What do you think about the article?

I was really excited for this based on Atomos VII but the rest of the album doesn't follow in the same style and it didn't hit me with as immediately as that track did. I think there are a few really good tracks on here, my favorite likely VIII, but I wasn't ready for this much of a departure from Stars of the Lid/AWVFTS debut. I'm glad they decided to depart from that sound but it is taking me a bit more time to come around to.

I like this album though. Good call bros.

If you like the idea of site specific drones you should check out the work of Gordon Monahan. The Aeolian Harp is awesome.
