Staying in Brooklyn near Prospect Park but will be up north in various places at times. I never leave Chicago so I don't know dick about "The Big Apple." Do they have Indian food? Thanks.

Is anything here "the best ____" you've tasted anywhere? Really, now? Obviously I'll be stone cold munchin' on a bagel or several!!!

Xi'an Famous Food is worth seeking out. The spicy cumin lamb noodles are awesome and I go out of my way to eat here everytime I'm in NYC. They have multiple locations, but if you go to the Upper West Side location, you can truly gorge yourself and walk a few storefronts down to Sal and Carmine's for a great slice of pizza. I'm not an expert on NYC pizza, but it's the best I've ever had.
Also, Guy Fieri's American Kitchen and Bar in Times Square, obviously.

Paves there are street meat carts all over NYC and I eat that stuff like 3 times a day when I'm there.

Best thing I've eaten near Prospect Park is The Islands, I enjoy their comically small dining area and you will too if you like the idea of eating jerk chicken within the dimensions of a large treehouse

Second Xi'an Famous. The Liang Pi cold noodle with a Pork and Lamb "burger" is crazy good and less than $10. Best value meal in any city, food is super delicious.
Di Fara or Best Pizza, both in Brooklyn, are flaming good 'za. Get the white pizza at the latter. There's a really good empanada place near the Jefferson stop L train exit but don't know the name, really good if you get caught in Bushwick. The Grilled Octopus at Supper in alphabet city is pretty much fantastic but its cash only and not really that cheap. Great Noodletown NY is good for grilled pig, congee, and fried soft shell crab. Enjoy Paves

punjabi at east 1st st. and houston on the lower east side has delicious, insanely cheap indian take out. it's where all the cabbies go.
mission chinese food, also in the l.e.s. is pretty unbelievable. each time i eat there it's the greatest meal i've ever had. plus, all the bathrooms are twin peaks themed.
el sombrero, also in the l.e.s. has great mexican food.
anna maria's pizza in williamsburg (bedford & 7th) and lula bagel in crown heights (nostrand ave & lincoln place) are great spots in brooklyn.

Second Mission Chinese but go early cause its no reservation and gets busy pretty fast. Go to the shitty bar next door after you're done, that place is really fun half of the time!

I avoided it completely.
I did just play a half-hour long Eagles cover at a party full of mid-20s Oberlin alumni in Bed-Stuy, though. Christ.

This was damn good pizza! Got there an hour after opening, and it just so happened to be opening an hour late. The place instantly filled up with people waiting way longer than you'd expect for a tiny slice of pizza, but I guess it's five bucks for a reason. I regret not getting a whole pie.
Also went to Mission Chinese, but apparently the place has been revamped. My girlfriend ordered a drink called Phil Khallins. It was the tail-end of "brunch" hours so they could only serve us a few things, but that included a spicy as fuck noodle dish and chicken wings, all of which made my lips vibrate, and a rice krispy treat covered in seaweed.
Only went to Williamsburg last night to eat chicken and waffles from Sweet Chick.
Also had great avocado pesto pasta at some vegan place in Greenwich Village (I think?), and a sick lobster roll! And more pizza.

Hell yes, brother man.
I recall feeling beyond full at Sweet Chick. They gave me a fuckload of chicken and I spent a good five minutes telling myself, "Okay, after this bite, I'm done" repeatedly, and still left a bit on my plate. Also had mac and cheese.

pickled
Go to the Lower East Side and get some pickles at The Pickle Guys. I like their half sours a a lot. And then do the cheap dumplings/expensive donuts crawl - Vanessa's 4 dumplings (5/$1 or something) and then Donut Plant 4 really great donuts. Something like $3/donut. If U're not into dumplings, get the duck pancake at Vanessa's, which is out of this world. Go to a Shake Shack - there's one by the Natural History Museum, which is also definitely worth a visit. I really liked visiting the Guggenheim, partly because the building is so interesting to be in, but I liked the art and presentation better at The New Museum. Get a snack from Chelsea Market and walk the high line. Be careful about drinking up there though - lots of cops. Walk around Central Park and get a hot dog somewhere. Make sure to get the onion sauce. Eat at Keen's if U want a steak. Most enjoyable steakhouse experience I've had.
As 4 Brooklyn, walk around Williamsburg and take in the scene. Grab a pork bun from Momofuku, any of them really. I had a spectacular meal at Dover in Carroll Gardens, but that's definitely a date type spot rather than a solo joint. Roberta's and Paulie Gee's do phenomenal pizza if U don't feel like waiting an hour and a half at Di Fara, but I want to emphasize that Di Fara makes the best pizza I've eaten and the main guy, Domenico, won't be around 4 ever. Get the whole pie if U do go to Di Fara. Whatever U don't eat U could sell outside 4 $5/slice easy.
Or do none of these things, but I had a pretty good time doing them. Will U be alone or w/ other folks?

Had a gluttonous meal at Peter Lugar's last night. Can't even describe the flavor in that steak. And to finish it off with cheesecake and Schlaug. Holy fuck.
Walked around Williamsburg after and ended up having drinks at the Wythe Hotel rooftop. Saw a beautiful sunset and then walked around some more.
Maybe one of the best days of my life.
