I'm just trying to gauge how "popular" this song is or isn't. Or where people might have heard it before.

Hell yeah.
That's not my answer tho. I don't think I've ever heard this before.

I voted no. Did you hear this recently? Curious about what sparked the question.

I don’t recall the last time I heard it but feel like that is some classic Chicago radio rock 101.9 The Mix type shit.

Someone I follow who has a podcast occasionally does polls where followers vote on what song he'll do some kind of episode on or breakdown of. This time around, he put it up between this song and the inescapable "Come To My Window" by Melissa Etheridge.
And that just got me wondering how well (if at all) I even knew who The Indigo Girls were, how well I actually knew any of their songs, whether other people actually know them, or if they're a group who obviously have a cult following but are somehow household names even though they don't get airplay (or do they???) or really have a ton of sway in the 21st century.
Just testing the waters here.

Re: have you heard this song before?
This song enjoyed Tracy Chapman "Fast Car" levels of radio and MTV saturation in the late 80's/ early 90's, so yeah. It's a pretty good album, honestly.
At my bachelor party, which mostly featured ludicrous amounts of booze and 70's hard rock on vinyl, my bros gave me endless shit when they found the vinyl in my stacks and it became a sort of running gag to drop the needle on that track.

VH1 made a big deal out this band when I was watching that channel. This and "Galileo" were on my "things I secretly enjoy and will never breath a word out loud about even when I'm alone" list from jr high, a position that was solidified literally the only time I heard one of their songs on the radio and my friend's dad dismissed it as "hillbilly music".
